The new JTLS was great, but there are still some misstakes:

For the Naboo Force Security Pilots, should be flying the Naboo Starfighter's lineinstead of the current one line of starfighters, because in the real Star Wars, these are supossed to be the fighters to protect the Royal planet, the kink/queen and noble people, Naboo Starfighters are sign of this faction, like the Tie fighters line for the Empire.

Also Z-95s, X-wing, Y-wing, A-wings, B-wings and the newE-wings are not for restric use of the rebels, all these ships are commond to all faction forces (except some like the Empire and Naboo forces) because these ships are more frecuently used by pirates and smugglers than rebels. Thats why rebel's fleet are dificult to track, because rebels don't have an special and exclusive model to be used only by rebels like the Empire has their own exclusive models and only imperial have access to that ships (but sometimes a rebel steal a Tie fighter or two to get new technology, like the obtained for the Tie Advance or the secret Tie Defenders and the Asault Gun boat). So any neutral pilot should be able to obtain and fly these ships, not only rebels.

So, all that choose rebel only to be able to fly an X-wing, shouldn't need to be rebels, the only advantage to be a rebel pilot should be the skills, rebels are supossed to be better pilots than empire pilots, but empire pilots have a better ships an technology to there is a balance in the real Star Wars world and in the game. Also rebels have access to better weapons and equipment (sliced equipment and weapons) for theirs ships than a common pirate or smuggler.

Also there are some mistakes for the Empire ships, Tie Interceptors and Tie bombers aren't able to use shields, these are see in all movies and games. The only Empire starfighters that have shield are the Tie Advance, Tie Interceptor and the Assault Guntboat. The Empire have the best ships, equipment and technology, also have some cloaking devices on their ships to become undetectable or even invisible, like in the Tie Figher or X-wing Vs Tie Fighter Saga. It's a shame it doesn't exits in the game.

And... what happend to jedis and force users? dark and light jedis are suppossed to have access to a special ships, similar to A-wing with the speed, maneuver and shield rate, but with better protection and weapons. Also are suppossed to be the best pilots, and I don't see any force skill to flight ships, only to use vehicles.

I understand the thoughts behind your post, but the big thing that you are missing is converting this to a game.

The 3 pilot factions need to have different (in style and strengths) yet similar ship sets. Its for balance, and without balance in a multi-player game like this you would end up with everyone as 1 faction or something similar. Same reason the TIE's most all have shields. If they did not NO one would fly them. Not a knock on you just a simple fact.

And please no special Jedi stuff in space, I don't want to see anything else put ingame that pushes players to go Jedi. Let's not make it so every player goes Jedi to compete on ground AND in space.

First, I have read nearly every novel in the EU, and I don't understand how you can have developed this impression that many of the attack craft used by the Rebel Alliance were originally used by smugglers and pirates. I have read about smugglers and pirates salvaging some of these craft and combining them with others to create "uglies", but that is the extent of smugglers and pirates having accessing to this technology. Furthermore, there are facts spelled out that would make much of this technology inaccessible to smugglers and pirates:

  • The X-wing was very expensive, even for the Rebel Alliance military. Proof of this was in the simple fact that even Rogue and Wraith squadrons had to do without sometimes, primarily because the X-wing was mostly built by hand (probably this simple reference is what gave the devs the bright idea of not giving us SWs factory support).

  • The Alliance A-wing fighter was developed by General Jan Dodonna (you remember, the old guy with the white hair and beard that came up with the strategy for destroying the first Death Star in SW:ANH)for the Rebel Alliance, not smugglers and pirates. The Rebel Alliance distributed to schematics for this fighter to trusted shipwrights, who built these fighters by hand.

  • The B-wing fighter (more a bomber) was developed by Admiral Ackbar (you remember, the Mon Calamari who lead the assault on Death Star II in SW:RoTJ) for the Rebel Alliance, not smugglers and pirates. This fighter is even more expensive than X-wing fighters, placing the technology even farther out the reach of the common likes of scoundrels.

  • The E-wing? We have no E-wing in SWG. Furthermore, if the devs give it to us I'm not going to be happy with it. The E-wing was developed by Incom for the New Alliance (not smugglers and pirates) during the campaigns Grand Admiral Thrawn led against the New Alliance, which is roughly 7 years after SW:RoTJ.

  • The rebels were hard to track because they organized their effort using resistance cells. This strategy minimizes knowledge about whereabouts of each cell, preventing the Empire from discovering the entire rebel network. This strategy is similar to that used by real life terrorists.

  • The only fighter craft I know of that pirates and smugglers have access to includes the Z-95 Headhunter. You can have it.

Second, it is utter non-sense that pilots of the Rebel Alliance distinguished themselves only through their skill; tell to that Porkins (remember, the lard-butt that drove his X-wing right into the surface of the first Death Star in SW:ANH). The constrast between Alliance and Imperial Navy pilots lie in how their superiors treated them. The Alliance put a premium on a pilot's life, and thus gave them hyperspace-capable craft and shields (not to mention missiles), while the Imperial Navy viewed the pilot as expendable, and thus the reason why they were given a stripped trash can to combat the rebels. And even so, please explain how you would map such a notion into the game, especially when there exists no notion of "modifiers" in space?

Third, let me address the long (and what was dead) controversary concerning whether TIE fighers, TIE/In, and TIE interceptors should be allowed to have shields. You can't do it in a game that supports PvP because it unbalances the game. What advantage would you give Imperial pilots over rebels? In the Star Wars universe, the Empire's advantage was in shear numbers. How do you map this into the game. I guess you could give Imperial pilots faction pets.

Finally, what did happen to Jedi? I'll tell you. In this time period, they are all put EXTINGUISHED, they way they should be in this game. Darth Vader is failing his master, the Emperor, as they haven't been eliminated from the galaxy. Kill them all. (Just my opinion).
