So you reverse engineer parts and theres a chance you get a KSE part instead of the item you are RE'ing?
Am i getting this right?

No...its in addition to the part you reverse engineer. You don't lose the component when the KSE schematic fragment is discovered.

O.K. not to high jack the thread
To RE a component you first need to make some analysis tool now that we have that made its time to examine the component you want to RE
components that are looted have a Reverse engineering level so lets say we are REing a shield with RE level of 1. You would then place said item in the tool and analyze the component, a little screen will pop up telling you thechanges that were made close it and close the naming box and you are done.
Now if the RE level is higher than one you must have the same amount of components to place in the tool as the RE level so it would be like this
RE level
1 - 1 component needed
2 - 2 components needed
and so on and so on with levels from 1-10
