Just read that you can have 2 types of weapons (ie; blaster and disruptor) in a ship chassis and both be used.
is this correct and does it depend on the chassis?
Plz bare with me as i have not been able to try any flying yet

I believe each chassis has a set number of weapons hardpoints. The weapons you put on there are up to you.You can have a variety of weapons. There are more than 2 types:
Disruptors - good against armor
Ion canon - good against shield
Blasters - ok on both shield and armor (come in red or green)
Concussion missle launcher
Proton missle launcher
Image rec missle launcher
Seismic missle launcher
Space bomb missle launcher
For example in an X-wing you could
have 2 ion cannons, place them in group one
have 2 disruptoners, place them in group two
Attack a ship, using your group 1 fire button till shields are gone. Then use the group 2 button to destroy the armor.

The number of weapons and missles that a ship can be equipped with depends on the ship. See the following post http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=profshipwright&message.id=44.

I was thinking about this. But I was wondering about shieldregen. It is going to be impossible tonever hita shielded target. Since the shield will we constantly regeneration. Therefore, wouldn't your disruptor never be going optimal damage becase there would always be a small chunck of shields in the way?

Shields don't necesarily regenerate all that fast. If you blow someone's shields to nothing, it is possible to smack their shieldless starfighter several times with your weapons.
My personal choice would be to load an Ion cannon and a Disruptor in a ship that can fire two weapon groups at once and go wild with both cannons at the same time. If I am limited to one type of weapon in the ship, then I stick with Blasters only.

To help you inform your customers, here's my setup, and it's been working well for me:
I've got a Dunelizard (two weapon hardpoints) with an Ion Cannon and a Disrupter. I've got one joystick button set to weapon group 1, one to group 2, and the trigger to "fire and cycle" (so it shoots group 1, then group 2, then back).
I use the Ion until the shields are down to 50% (the displayed shield percentage counts both front and rear shields), then the Disrupters until the armor is down to 50% (with maybe a shot or two from the Ion if the target evades me long enough for shield regen to kick in). This keeps capacitor drain manageable while maximizing damage dealt. Once I'm damaging systems/chassis, I open up with fire-and-cycle, since this gives a much faster rate of fire, shortening the time before that pretty pretty explosion.
