Title says it all, I know chassis is borked, but do the others work?

Chassis is not borked. Chassis Experimentation works for both chassis and armor. All 3 of them work.

sry my bad, will explain. I meant that chassis was not worth it...simply because the gain is so little

It's definitely worth it. It can lower your armor's mass significantly. And since armor is our most disposable item, we tend to sell a lot of it.
Most of your server's top shipwrights should have maxed out their experimentation by now. That means all the shipwright tapes should be pretty inexpensive. I would highly recommend maxing out on everything you can, including chassis.

Mark III reinforced armor is 1159 armor 6050 mass without the tapes. It is 5812 mass with the tapes. Not an earth shattering gain, but I, and my customers think it is worthwhile.
Plus it'll decrease your chances of critical failure. Nothing like getting a critical failure on the mass of a Firespray to make your day.

Just a little can help move alot of units. I love the tapes for engines and weapons. Gives you a good edge over people without tapes.
