Thread: Petition for Chassis Dealer payout change
but 1k per lvl is fine no need to change it or add this
In a way, this will help to keep high level red loot rare.
Maybe not a bad thing.

Niacia
I thought I was fairly clear with my intent, to allow shipwrights to purchase components, RE them, and sell the REed part to the chassis dealer for the same amount that it would cost if each individual component was sold without REing.

He's giving the results of following the original poster's suggestion. Following the original poster's formula, the chassis dealer would give 100k for a lvl 10 component that had been RE'ed. Component Level (10) * RE Level (10) * 1k = 100k.
What the original poster is trying to hide is his intent: he wants a chance for a KSE Firespray disk AND the value of the components used in the process. If he simply sold the 10 lvl 10 components to the chassis dealer without reengineering it into a single component, he'd get his 100k. Just without the chance for a piece of the schematic.

Cash in my pocket eqautes to being closer to being able to afford the exburiant prices Shipwrites ask for in parts.
Cut my income, and i wont have as much to spend in your shops. I would think you would want pilots making money. Poor pilots do not buy things very often.
I thought I stated that I was only talking about changing the payouts for REed components, not looted components. Being able to sell looted components to theChassis dealerwas a very good thing. As it stood, space was bankrupting pilots. This way firesprays won't cost tens to hundreds of millions of credits to buy, limiting their use to certain very rich pilots.
Of course if you are one of the top crafters on you server, you might feel that having a firespray cost 75,000,000 credits is a good thing, as it keeps the riftraft out of them... But for everyone except the 3 other people on your server, it's not the case.

What you seem to be missing is that this will only hurt you, and other pilots, in the end. Selling your loot to a junk dealer takes it out of circulation, meaning that no one will ever be able to use it. Sure, you'll get your few thousand credits, but the next time you go to try and find a RE'd component to fit into your ship because the mass on the crafted one is too high, you'll find that it costs you 10 times what it did the last time you went looking. With less supply, and equal demand, prices are going to go up. And you can forget ever owning a Firespray. Since it's so much harder to get parts to try to get schematics, instead of one going for 10 million, now it's going to go for 50 mil, because it's that much more rare. Dumping your parts without thought to the future will only hurt you, the pilot. It wont hurt those of us who are shipwrights.

90% of the loot is utter garbage. For instance, raise your hand if you want to use a Lvl 8 or 9 capacitor that weights 35K mass, has a 32.1 recharge, and a energy reserve of 800.
I can't think of any reason why anyone in their right mind would use such a thing. Most of the loot is things of this nature. This stuff NEEDS to go out of circulation if you ask me. What really irritates me is people put alot of such crap on the market (most of lt lv l1 or 2, and is junk even for that teirs standards). It makes trying to find something useful on market like looking for a needle in a haystack.
As for the firespray, call me crazy, but i never could understand what the big deal is about that ship - ill never buy one, i think its the most fugly looking design ever concieved.

To RE a level8 component, it takes 8 looted components. If each part was sold individually it would bring in 64k to the pilot. This way, a shipwright can RE components and pay pilots a rate competitive with the chassis dealer. I fail to see how this would be a "bad thing". It still takes a long time to gather up the tens of thousands of components necessary, match them up, and RE them to get schemas.
And I could have sworn I had the option of selling some of my REed components to the Chassis dealer, and they paid 1k per level.
i agree. it only makes sense that if i have to buy 10 level 10 componants (or 8 or 6 choose what ever you like) at the chassis broker price from a pilot (which i have no problem doing if a pilot wants to leave the starport) that when i turn those 10 items into 1 item. i should be able to sell it back to the chassis broker for the 10 individual componant's prices respectively.
fwiw i dont mind at all that loot is dropping from the stars and i dont mind that the chassis broker is paying for the items. yes it means more sales for me. but having to pay extra on top of what the chassis broker is paying to get someone to leave the starport and offer similar items (oh wow someone offers one l10 gun to my vendor. wooopeeee i sure hope 9 others do it also) and to sell it after i r.e. it back to the chassis broker for up to 1/10th (L10 part) absolutely blows
and for all those that say or are thinking "oh your a s.w. your rich" not!!!! consider how many sw are competing for your credits. look how many sw place advertisements all over the boards. i cant remember the last time i flew to mulitple starports in one night to see an armor smith spamming "come buy my armor" but last night's trek looking for capacitors took me to coronet, bestine, theed, moenia, kaadara, eisley, entha, tyrenna and the talus imp outpost. every stinking port had a s.w. spammer. (4 or 5 in coronet and theed) the pilots are now at levels where they dont need a daily equip purchase since they are up to the l7 and l8 levels which they will hold onto for a while till master pilot
if anything.. open up the chassis broker to s.w. as a second bazaar. i have had many customers before the patch who have bought my killer capacitors (which i took an hour or two a day hunting every bazaar and vendor i could find so i could make some awesome combinations) they come back to an empty vendor now cuz i cant find anything. even up to the 6k max price on the bazaar im not finding anything, one thing i had pride in was being able to stock 1k plus energy 36 plus recharge capacitors consistently on my vendor. and many customers are still coming around looking for them. just now i have to do the generic reply "blame the devs and everyone who is too lazy to bring the stuff im looking for to my vendor for offer or too lazy to walk to the bazaar to post it. and would rather just off it real quick at the starport for quick credits." one of my enjoyments was peole saying "he has killer caps go see him" now i have nothng to show and offer to help the pilots fight better in space.
- lvl 1 stuff 1k
- lvl 2 stuff 4k
- lvl 3 stuff 9k
- lvl 4 stuff16k
- lvl 5 stuff 25k
- lvl 6 stuff 36k
- lvl 7 stuff 49k
- lvl 8 stuff 64k
- lvl 9 stuff 81k
- lvl 10 stuff 100k
Now this might just be me talking but WTH!
Hell no if anything the pay out should be decreased to 500 per level.
At 500 the pilots that no like to leave the starport can sell there stuff fast, while still allowing Shipwrights to buy loot off people at 1k per level.

Chassis dealers do not buy REed items, they buy any space loot. It does not have to be REed first
Most every components RE level equals the component level. (major exeption id droid interfaces and they are all bloody messed up )
So the dealers will pay -
- lvl 1 stuff 1k
- lvl 2 stuff 4k
- lvl 3 stuff 9k
- lvl 4 stuff16k
- lvl 5 stuff 25k
- lvl 6 stuff 36k
- lvl 7 stuff 49k
- lvl 8 stuff 64k
- lvl 9 stuff 81k
- lvl 10 stuff 100k
Now this might just be me talking but WTH!

when i took my re'd componets to the chassis broker he bought them all up and all i had was re'd parts in my inventory
also its 1k per lvl meaning lvl 1 =1k 2=2k there not going to give you 100k for a lvl 10 part you will only get 10k (which is more then fair and should stay this way )
and i will test it agian but i know for sure that the chassis guy buys re'd parts or i would still havea vendor full of them
as re'd parts are still space loot and not crafted they will still be bought by the broker
