I'd rather band together against people who can't spell 'boycott' and can't figure out thier caps-lock keys.

hmmm, if it really is SO easy as you say, then why not just gather your own resources?
That's what I do. I mine 80% of what I need atm. I buy the rest, and then only if I can get a good deal.

Yea all im doing is having fun and pointing out something that just needs to be addressed as well. I never used to read the boards till jtl beta and i basically just did my own thing and left it at that. But here i am doing a trade skill and one thing i have noticed in my search for information to constantly improve on myself and what i can provide my costumers with,is that allot of people complain about the resources and the price of stuff. Now why is that? We created the economy. We let people like the resource hounds tell us how much we need to charge for stuff. Why? Well we are all in some sort of rush to be the first the biggest the blah blah blah. We empower the resource hounds to charge so much for crap that only belongs in a dung heap. I personally rarely buy from these guys. I use a skill that has taken so many years to cultivate, Patience.
So I figured I would call for a protest against them. I’ve seen so many people on this board call for unification of our prices why can’t we unite and shut these people down. They are not a necessity, they are a leach living off everyone else all they need to do is keep some lots free and get really good at surveying, well as we all know that’s a joke because anyone can set up a survey macro and be done with it.
So you say unify our prices. I say lets do it once the economy improves. Lets lower the inflation. Lets show them that we wont let them do this any longer! Lets pop a cap in Joe Resources’ butt
PS I thought it was funny how I misspelled caca last time so I was a little more careful this time

Technicaly the price of resources isnt really due to the miners or harvester farmers. Its due to us crafters.
Ill explain:
Doctor version:
1st doctor offers 50cpu for something. Instead of other doctors offering the same they offer more.
2nd doctor offers 75cpu for same resource. Hoping to get people to get the resource for him.
3rd doctor comes along and offer 100cpu, thinking he/she is slick. Then the rich guy comes along.........
4th doctor offers 200cpu and blows everyone away. Now all people are wanting 200cpu for resources.
This has been seen a 100 times on my server
Shipwright version:
Guy didnt save up before JTL release and needs 2+mil units of steel. But when he hunts for the steel on vendors finds out another 300 people also didnt save up steel and the market is bone dry. Whats he to do?
1st SW offers 4cpu for any type of steel.
2nd SW offers 5cpu for any type of steel/
etc....
etc....
Then a ok spawn comes along, and miners think because crafters were paying 4-6cpu for grind steel that they would pay 7-10cpu for this ok steel.
You can add other professions to this- but i think you get the picture.

Its basicaly common supply and demand, except when demand is lower in SWG people still charge outrageous prices.
This is due to crafters and rich players throwing their weight around, or should i say capital ($).
There is no way to avoid this, and we cant ban together to stop it. It is unavoidable. Because even though you and 20 others band together and dont buy from the guy wanting 5cpu for grind steel- there is someone right behind you that has a ton of cash and doesnt care how much it is.
For new players this hurts and i feel your pain. For smart players we dont care as we mine all our own resources, for the rich- what does it matter.
You can also have your guild help you by setting up teams to harvest resources.
Find a cheap dealer - there is always 1 on the server.
Hell create your own harvester farms if you must.
But dont take it out on the guy only trying to make a buck, when 80% of the SW's out there are charging 10-20cpu for 5cpu resources!
Hell when i first started, selling resources was my main income- me and my 10 personal harvesters. Now i have 150 mil and 60million units of resources to back my crafting needs.

Let's start building vast expanses of harvester fields. I now have 50 lots between my Jedi, my alt, and cross server agreements. I'm working on filling up the rest from my other accounts.
If shipwrights control the mineral resource market, then we'll sell at prices that are good for us. Granted, some shipwrights are outright greedy.

is it really theminners setting the high prices, or is it the sr's being forced to top each others bids because the recources r in such low supply?
