The past few days I've been RE'ing some really cool stuff for personal use. I couldn't wait to have my main ship loaded up with all custom/RE'd components.

However when I try to give my RE'd component a name itsays that my name contains a reserved word. I really don't have a problem with reserved words/filters however it doesn't give me an opportunity to try a different name. It just gives the component the name of the first item in the analysis tool. AAARG!

I would like to create my own line of custom RE'd components to sell on my vendor and this makes it a real pain. Can we please have a "SET NAME" option that would show up only on items that we have RE'd? Similar to backpacks and waypoints.

not really an issue.. find a standard that it does accept and use that

i use EPC RE Level IV as my standard. works fine (you can't use numbers)

RE always IJSre / player made IJS *version (*specials) - then leave rest of assemby text to identify

Also, when using the last charge on an analysis tool, I don't even get the option to name the RE'd component. Am I the only person who is having this problem?

Is there any news on when they're going to fix the name getting chopped off after being put into a ship? I hate when my Mark IV (whatever) gets renamed to "Mark" after being on a ship for a while.

So as SW we carry around a crap load of parts (to sell, to RE, junk, whatever). Now that there is a junk buying we are not deleting these parts. But the problem is when we g oto the Chassis buyer to sell our junk, we may have two identical named pieces. One junk piece and one waitng to be RE'd. How do I tell them apart? I'd like to be able to "Nane Item" at any time to be able to differentiate!!!!

Yes - it really IS an issue.You can't use the above name if the last charge in the RE tool is used up because there's no option to give it a name.

Instead of defending a broken system, you should try and look it from other points of view.

I still stand by my request above. If we had a 'Set Name' option on components that were RE'd by us similiar to backpacks and waypoints, life for shipwrights would be a little better.

This isn't something that involves a tremendous amount of programmatic effort. I understand that it isn't a game breaking issue yet the benefit to our professsion far out weighs the time needed to fix it.

you want a feature, not a fix for the problem.

Yes, the last charge of analyser should get opportunity to name. Yes, the 'reserved name' issue should give you a chance to rename, but no, we don't need a set name feature. Fix the bugs, don't add a new feature to get around them.

Yeah, I was doing this last week. i was using 'SIN Capacitor L6' and it worked great. I had 20 or 30 items on my vendor that were all RE'd and had our guild tag on them. Then just these past few days it blows away no matter what name I seem to use. I guess the only real problem is that you don't get another opportunity to try a different name without RE'ing another component. That's really not a big deal with Level 1 or 2 components but with level 6-8 components it really stinks.
