And I flew like everyone else the first couple of days then thought...hmm...nice, but missing something.

So anyhow Im wandering around on one of my many surveying trips and stumble across a Shipwright Shop. I dont know why but I went in, and low and behold it was <blink>! fully stocked, and whatsmore had good quality player crafted components for sale and not just tons and tons of loot dropcomponents. In fact, he didnt even have a vendor selling loot drop components.

I mentally rubbed my hands together and began to browse. I opened my data pad and looked at my Dunelizard... It didnt take long for me to realize that I had been using very sub-standard components. Anyhow...long story short, bought maybe 150k worth of components matching my level and sped off to nearest starport. I hurridly boarded my Yacht and flew to Mos Eisley.. the docking slip of my Dunelizard.

It was almost with childish glee that I loadedout my Dunelizard then rocketed off into space. Swathes of smoking wrecks were laid in my giddy path. Feeling saucy I hypered to LOK, this place had kinda bad memories for me prior to hangin up my wings last time. I somehow had gotten my mojo back, soon I was flying around popping corsairs and Imperial Ties with reckless abandon... Anyhow, I went back and landed on Tatooine and trained up, just one box left for 2222.

Hooked up with some new guildies and we went back to Lok, this experiance like my last was satisfying, infact, I cant figure out why I never grouped before doing this.

Anyhow, Im glad I decided to get back into space, Ive boughten a Kimo and the thing is a real beast. Packs a helluva punch but is a bit on the slow side. Getting ready to do my first tier 3 mission, anyone know how many of those we have to do for a skill box?

Just thought Id share that...dont ask me why (sittin at work and time is going s....l....o...w.

Well, you probably made that guy/girl's day Personally, I dropped Shipwright due to the near-complete collapse of the market, but you CAN make money as a shipwright, its just so slow that its not very fun if your only a crafter .

I actually have a similar story. When JTL came out I got my second accoutn so I could have my own personal shipwright. I got to Pilot 2/2/2/2 and then stopped to let my shipwright catch up. Well my wshipwright is now 4/3/3/4 and so I decided to give myself a little prestn in the form of some new parts and a new chassis. I quickly got to 2/3/2/2 and I have to say that playing with this ship is still a great joy compared to what I had before. I still need to get some more RE4,5,6 level stuff to get that sweet RE'd loot, but my advanced blasters are ridiculous and it makes the games loads more fun.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I found shipwright that had quality stuff stocked. I bought the same ship I own, but instead of 130K mass I now have 195K mass. Oh boy, what a difference. I am walking all over the enemy now. I have Pilot Fever again. Now I am checking shops here and there for goodies. Only thing is I want the DEVs to fix it so the shipwrights can craft better stuff that the majority of the loot.

crafted stuff is not bad, and if made with half a brain, useing upgrades can be pretty good, but we cant compete with the higher lvl Re'd stuff. espechialy anything using reward items. look at the lvl 8 reward weapon.(2000+ - 3800+ after RE, about 28k mass)i have looted one very close to it in damage, but the e/s on the reward is 14!! we cant come close to that.

But, as it takes a long time to collect say 8 lvl8 weapons, i do craft a lot of stuff too. eventually you will find yourself using mostly re'd stuff.

I think a mix of crafted and re'd is prolly best.

Yea1 hit kill can happen to RE'd shipsbut thats called FPS for ya, and it does not happen every time.

Can't really agree to that statement, as with my crafted equipment I can 1hit kill players just as well as with my looted stuff.

As an example I made a PVPA-Wing that only has a re'd LVL 6 engine (for PVP you need turn rates over 60,high speed is not that necesary as you will not be able to run away from a close encounter anyways) but the rest (includingthe lvl 9 blaster) is crafted.

Of course the droid interface is slow as hell, the shield is crap for PVE (1200hp) and as mentioned its not the fastest ship you can find, butI tried PVP with the ship and after getting that engine into it I was notdestroyed once so far.

So there simply is no need to spend ageslooting sothat you get that 4.7+k damage LVL 10 RE-weapon to own in PVP, talk to ashipwright that knows his way around in Deep Space and you can get a perfect PVP ship in a matter of minutes.

The RE-parts only make a difference in PVE -when you want to outdamage someone to get loot.

I can agree with that. I'm just so jaded because Valcyns PVP space pvp sceneaint there, and so I can't know for sure. I went to planetside for a while to get a pvp fix, but I miss altering my ship. I'm glad others are realizing crafted is not as bad assome claim it to be. It has its uses, I think the wholesystems balanced imo; I'd hate to see them change it. If they're to do any change it needs to come in the form of smugglers slicing some stats on crafted components. like a random YPR slice on an engine.

Smugs got screwed out of that promise to them, but the interview from the summersaying that they would slice ships has been edited, the slicing statement has been removed. If its a coding issue then I can understand but its something they should really shoot for,

it would be a bone that actuallyhas a little bit of meat on it thrown to the smug community.

See many players got itsobackwards and I used to keep this tip to myself but since no onePVPs theres no use in keeping it quiet: CHASIS'S ARE NOTHING. Its all about the comps. Only time you need a better chasis is when you have no alternative to making things fit, and no room for compromise.

Don't get a bigger chasis, find someone to shrink certain comps and open up mass internally instead replacing your chasis. Gen pop has it so backwards has it changed last month i was gone to play planetside? Has the general pop started thinking out of their box yet?

I realize it would be hard to do with out being SW, but all players ever ask me when I got Mstrtag up is for the next biggest chasis, but never want to pay what its worth- 5cpu at least when they should bethinking about using halfwaydecent comps. (If its not RE'd its trash, your all looted ship wont get you past tier 3)

Sure your .67 .72 vs. armr,3500 max dmg RE'dcannon is cool but come on .47 refire,... your gonna want a little fast blastertoo which you should go to a crafter for. Instead of draining our resources and btching about the high price of chasis, consider working with a MSW to redesign your ship from the inside out.

I'm done making chasis as I'm still recovering from some A-Hole who decide my B-wing I used myrare shiz for-was not good enough for him or suppose, that i spent 4 hours collecting resources and building for him,.

No wonder ppl blow up in one shot so muchon those rare pvp moments. They love the nextchasis more than what really counts- superior components.

Those who wail about no one buys SW parts is bullcrap because you have too buy crafted if you know wt-f is going on with having a killer ship, when you know whats up with altering mass internally, you have to say sometimes, "I need an SW to shrink this comp somyRE canfit also." But na when i was here last month it was always "OMG DUDE LEMME SEA YUR UB3RCHaisiS!!!" but they never want to pay for all the material they just wiped you out of.

>But, as it takes a long time to collect say 8 lvl8 weapons, i do craft a lot of stuff too. eventually you will find yourself using mostly re'd stuff.

its fact. So many players will claim"WRONG"against it (eitherall pilot, or all crafter, hardcoreabout it) but then they gocrying cuzthey get theirassblown up in1 hit during PVP. Besides many players are lazy and 8 level 8 loots plus the8other comps your thinking to RE, its not an easy orrelaxingafternoon project, its a 2-3 week headache juggling all that looted crap around unless your one of those wiz kids thats in love w/JTL's AI.

Well I recently bumped into a Rookie pilot the other day and just for fun I offered to equip them with top quality kit from my shop FOC.

I have to say I got a real kick outta doing this and I later some of my guildies came on (all flyers) and we introduced our new fledgling pilot and her freind to some serious gunboat bashing (T5 Gunboats 33k xp a pop)

Don't think I have ever seen a more happy bunch of people in a long time.

Didn't see an answer to this one in the replies. Once you complete a Tier 3 mission (it will have multiple phases) You get the option to train one box. So it's 1 mission = 1 Box.
