It takes the best numbers and you get a 2% bonus on that. TWO WHOLE FRIGGIN' PERCENT!!!!

I know I need the number of parts equal to the RE level. Now does the RE take the best stats for each area on the parts and combine them into one? Or just focus on one area?

The Revise eng number equals the number of parts
ie. re eng lvl 10 you will need 10 re eng Lvl parts to do a revise eng on them

yes you need the same number of parts for the level you are RE. Example if you are RE a level 5 armoryou need 5 level 5.
The stats are taken from the first peice you put it, not the best of all you put in. Example if you put in first piece that has 900 to capacitor energy and then put in one that is higher it will still only take the 900 and build off it.

That is incorrect. The part created has the best stats from all of the parts used.

Are you sure about the second part?I thought the whole purpose of REing parts was to make a super part that used the best stats from each of the pieces.I believe you are misinformed or else Reing would be a complete waste of time other that trying for a FS disc.

you sure because when i look at the final stats it always shows the stats from the first peice

It takes the best stats of all the parts and you get a bonus % per lvl /2. So a lvl 4 would give you 2% bonus and a Lvl 8 would give you 4% bonus.
Mass, power drain and droid speed takes the lowest value. And the bonus lower them even more. This is a good thing for these items.
The first item you but in the RE device will use the image for the final item. This will allow you to keep the odd looking engines or the fire effect on weapons.

Definitely incorrect. It takes the best of the stats and increases/decreases them depending on whether they are best off as high stats or low stats. So whereas mass needs to be low to be good, it'll take the lowest mass from all parts, and make it lower. It'll take the highest HP, and make them higher, etc, and so on.

Man, there is some crazy misinformation in this thread.

It will take the best available stat from all the items (lowest mass, highest armor and HP, highest recharge, damage, etc.) and then add a percent improvement as follows: level 1, 1%; level 2-3, 2%; 4-5, 3%; 6-7, 4%; 8-9, 5%; 10, 6%.
The first component you put in the REing tool will only determine the appearance and base name of the final RE'd product. This is mostly important on weapons, where the first weapon in the tool will be the effect you'll end up firing, but it also comes into play for the graphics on engines and boosters.
That should be it.
