Thread: Am I doing something wrong, or is it just horrible bad luck?

Over 150 RE'ed items and no disk. I've never gotten one, and I revers engineer about 10 items per day. :/

I had about 70-80 kuat items, which is rumoured to have higher drop rate.

Thank you for your input.

The latter, bad luck. I must've gone through a few hundred before I got my first one.

Then a few days ago I got 2 in a few minutes(not the ONE I actually needed, of course, lol).

It's completely random. I haven't had a drop since patch 13.0 went live and I've RE'd hundreds of items. Go figure.

My business partner and I have RE'd hundreds if not thousands of parts and only got 3 disks - pure luck or lack of it I'm afraid.

I always seem to have better luck saving my parts and RE'ing all at once. Doint 10 a day for 7 days netted me nothing, but doing 40 in 1 sitting got me my first disk.

/sigh For what SWG could have been.

It took about 200 RE's before I got my first disk. After that, I got the other 7 disks within about 700-800 RE's. A couple were duplicates, whichI traded to get the ones I needed. It seems that when I RE'd many items in one setting I did better than RE'ing a few items a day over the course of several days.

The number I've heard people quote is that 0.5% of RE's drops a fragment. In my experience it's better than that, closer to 1%. I've done 400 in a row with out, and i've gotten 3 in the span of 10 minutes, so complete random chance. Note that this is number of RE's not number of items in the RE. Level 1 loot is the most efficient in that way, and you can sell it off at 1000 per level, which you won't get on other items. If you really want a firespray quickly you need to get some friends together and start grinding out low level loot. I've started making firesprays for my guildmates, we've managed to drop 9 fragments so far in a week.
