I'm working on a big Reverse Engineering project with my guild in search of the Firespray disks and I've noticed something.
I've noticed that well REed Engines, Boosters, and Capacitorslevels 3, 5, and 7 are almost always worse than levels 2, 4, and 6 with higher mass. Are there any other ship parts like this?
We save most of the good ship parts for the guild to use. But it would be nice to know what are the ship parts that we should automatically sell after Reing them.

The odd number thing is well known among SW. Don't even bother selling the odd number parts for engines, boosters, and capacitors since no one will want them.
Maybe someday in the future the devs will correct this horrible over site and un-nerf the SW so that they can always make good parts instead of trash half the parts cause of bad stats.

I just posted some statistics showing the average values for each loot component type and each level.
You can find it at THIS LINK.
It may give you an idea of what "better than average" loot would be. You can just sell things that don't make the cut to the chassis dealer if you don't want to RE it.

Odd-numbered weapons are good. Reactors and armor seem to be all over the place, but it's hard to find a good set to RE in the first place. I think odd-numbered DIs are fine. Looted shields in general are poor, but I have put together both even- and odd-numbered sets that were kind of interesting.
Hm. I think the superiority rule is limited to engines, capacitors, and boosters. That's certainly where it's most evident.
