Thread: Resource Reward Crates can give you Asteroid Resources

So basically the value of the new resources will be fixed to max around what a resource crate costs / 30000. It seems to me there are not different spawns of asteroid resources but just generic ones with OQ1000.

I wonder how hard it will be to actually mine any of it, and if it will be preempted by the veteran rewards so nobody but fanatics will do it.

What types of asteroid resources are there? Do they fall into the usual general categories (i.e. Ferrous, Non-ferrous, Gemstone, etc.). Thanks.

The NDA peeps testing RotW can't talk about it, so don't expect too many answers here...

NO, but non-NDA'd people who see things on the bazaar or use their resource crate reward to brwose the resource category listings can post all they'd like

(at least until the gestapo comes for them too)

What gets me is some of the new mining parts require astroid material. Here's a "which came first.. the chicken or the egg?" To crafts said mining parts that require astroid material, how do you get the astroid material? I don't have a resource crate and don't feel as though I should have to pay 3mil or what ever they're going for now to get those materials... unless I'm missing something simple here...

You're missing something. Nowhere is it mentioned that mining equipment requires asteroid resources.

The Heavy Fighters, their special components, and thecomponents for ONLY POB shipsneed asteroid resources; none of those is required to mine.

I believe it was stated somewhere that the mining equipment WOULD require mined resources, but that a basic low-quality one can be gotten from an NPC to get you started (not unlike getting your first ship in JTL).

As for types, some of it is viewable in live right now, the SW crafting schematics include some of the new chassis and parts. It includes in there references to things like "aluminum asteroid" and "petrochemical asteroid" etc.

I've just posted the locations of the 13 different types in another thread in this forum. All of this is in Live right now. I havent heard one way or another whats stats Asteroids have-but I hope they shift and have more than OQ just like regular resources, If you look at all the new schematics in your datapad, I'm willing to bet that anything Shipwright craftable in ROW will require some of these new resources. So far everything I've seen from the new Texture kits to the Elite Rail Gun have at least 2 Asteroid resources as a requirement.
