I understand that the NDA is still in effect, but perhaps a simple Yes or No would be great from those who have been testing.
I love this profession, but I don't think I'll be buying the next expansion. Are my days as a Go-to Master Shipwright over?

My GUESS would be yes..........you have JTL, you can be Shipwright.......my GUESS is that if you DONT get RotW, you WONT have acces to the new elite schematics. Just a guess, Im not in Beta and have not been on TC, so no NDA infringement from me.

I'm thinking you'll still be viable. I'm not in the beta (yet...) but I have a SW on TC-EP3, and a few of the new stuff for RotW is in my datapad for me to craft... I just gotta keep finding those nice 10,000 cpu prices on the bazaar. Based on that, I think those SW without RotW will be able to craft the new stuff on Live, you won't be able to earn any schematics that are quested for but if they are like other schems in the game and can be traded, I don't think that will be a problem.
just my theory

I would think that you WOULD be able to to survive as a SW but I dont know about being viable. There are going to be a few things that youre going to either not be able to make or have a difficult time while others will be able to do so with ease.
I would think that you have a good chance being left behind while the other expand their sales but that will remain to be seen until everything goes live.

I'm sure you will do OK, but like mentioned above you will be missing out on the ability to craft certain items which will impact you for custom orders. If your just looking at stocking a vendor, then stocking the basic items in mass should be fine and probably what is expected from any mass producing shipwright. if your main business is in custom orders then this will have a more profound impact on you.

Ifyou'replanning to buyasteroid resources, then you'll be fine. However, I warn you that you're going to be paying ALOT! Mining stations scattered throughout the galaxy pay pilots handsomely for some of the resources you're going to need. For example, there is one schematic for an elite component that calls for 1250 units of acidic asteroid. Mining stations I have visited are paying 10 CPU for this resource. Thus, you are either going to need some cool friends that are willing to mine for you, or you're going to be hit with a markup, and that translates into some pretty stiff costs. You're going to make a lot more profit by mining your own resources.

the new schems are availvable to me when I begin crafting so I think you can still craft them- new schems, but you will not be able to do your own mining, you will have tojust buy asteroid ore from others is how it seems.

I'm pre-ordering. Thanks for everyone's advice.
I don't like to buy resources, I prefer to mine my own. And the extra slots for parking is just too good to pass up. I need those spots.
Damn you, Soe. Damn you to heck.
