Ok... So, if I respec out of Master Shipwright into Squad Leader for a few days, and I still have a couple of uses left on my Firespray schematic, will I still have tem when I respec back into MSW later?

I used to be a master architect, and still have the Furniture III painting schematics I learned back in the day when I launch the structure tool, so I'm guessing yes. I'm hoping that once you learn it, you know it until it's used up.

If I need to I'll make the remaining uses just to be safe, but I'd rather hold onto those resources for other thigns at the moment.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

I for one do not support respec'ing for a few days to any profession to accomplish ones own ends. I think it shows great disprespect to that profession, and should not be encouraged or supported. My combat character is a smuggler and people are respec'ing to smuggler for a day to get a slice and then respec'ing back.

How would we feel as shipwrights if someone respec'ed in just to build a chassis? Or RE their great loot horde?

As far as I am concerned, you're on your own

Before the cu I dropped tailor, I still have old loot schem for tailor in my schem datapad. I think they still show up as craftable if I use a clothing tool. hmmm... might need to check if I can still make one without being tailor.

With out the skills you'll prolly end up with a sock with both ends sewn up shut.

If I were you, I'd respec back, craft those Firesprays, respec back again, and sell those Firespray on the trade forums.

Well Ashet, thanks for your "help" answering my question. Perhaps if I added that I wanted to try out the profession to see if it was a better fit to my play style than shipwright, or to see if it helped my group out more given the combat upgrade than free ships, that would have led to a more constructive response. But as I didn't I can only fault myself for you thinking I don't respect the Squad leader profession. As it is right now I have no opinion about the profession because I have never been exposed to it. Silly me for thinking that if I played it for a while, even a couple of hours, I'd have a basis for wanting to keep it.

Again, thanks for answering the question of if I respec out of the shipwright profession, with a limited use schematic still on me, if I will still ahve it in the future.

Well, I haven't left the shipwright profession yet, because I don't want to risk losing the schematic. I might just craft them, but they won't be for sale. My groups goal is that everyone have a firespray who want's one. Currently only 2 or 3 of the pilots can fly one, so I haven't used up those resources making the last ones yet. I'll probably just kick them out, respec, see if I like the new prof, and if it helps my group more than shipwright. If it doesn't, I'll be back to shipwright (or maybe WS< as I have a 12 pt outfit just begging to be used...)

And the answr is yes, you will keep the Firespray schematic if you respec out then back into Master Shipwright.

Guess you only need to be a Master Shipwright to learn the schematic, not to actually make it.

If you still have the schematic yea you can use it. It works like that for faction armor anyways. People should definately experiment with diff professions during the 2 week period that's what it's for, the cu was a big change and it affected craftsman too. Your not on your own by any means, the majority of players have respec'd at least once I'm sure.
