Thread: Some experimentation on Engines
I crafted a Mark IV at speed of 87 and YPR orf 64.
I crafted a Mark V at speed of 117.9 and YPR of 63
Please tell me how? And what are the Mass on them?
Even with your numbers, the YPR is too low, by a long shot. And I doubt you can get the Mass of a good RE.
Oh I'm not saying they'll replace good RE engines (mainly due to YPR)...but still it's not bad. I got the speed by having some really good resources. As for mass. Well I didn't experiment on mass...so you can prolly figure out what the mass on them would be then
I'd post the numbers but I haven't been in game yet today lol (gasps, faint).
I was just posting to let you know what other servers are crafting
Oh, and for those engines the only thing I experimented on was speed with extras going into YPR. I also crafted the relevant overdrivers for those engines

Ahh, yeah. Well the speed is great, the YPR, possibly acceptable in the RotW ships, but the Mass....not for an Imp![]()
I'd think the mass would be ok for a heavy TIE.
Just spent some time on engines to what what my 'Improved' line will now be. Overdrivers were experimented for speed to max. My Ferm S Ore is only 868 OQ but my steel is 649Cd 991OQ. The sub comes out at 14.9 Speed 486 Energy without playing with food for a better Energy rate.

tbh, higher speed crafted engines have always sold better than RE'd engines at my shop. i guess my customers prefer the higher speed to manueverability. imho, ypr around 62-65 works just fine for me, makes your ship less jittery, easier to control, and easier to target those pesky awings while still turning fast enuf to keep up with em with my big ol' bear claws. 70+ ypr was always too sensitive for me.
That's what I've found too. The extra speed comes in handy when you need to get away quickly when in a pinch - and the turn rate (62-66) is plenty enough for both pvp and pve. That's the way I've found it anyway.
