methane is a common compound found in many extraterrestrial icy environments, such as comets and icy moons. Its the most common organic compound, as its the simplest. It can either occur as a pure frozen species, or more commonly bound within water ice as methane hydrates. The largest concentrations of methane gas on Earth are in methane hydrate deposits under the Arctic permafrost, where the temperature and pressure keep them in equilibrium.

Methane whether is comes from a persons rear end or an astroid. Still burns blue when burned with oxygen.![]()
