Thread: Elite Parts How do they measure up to Mark V?

Are any of the elite crafted ship parts crafted as intended? I had Elite Null Bolt Blaster crafted for me. While the damage isn't much higher than a Mark V, the refire rate is .28, allowing me for near rapid fire if I hold the trigger down. I assume this is a good step up from Mark V.

Are there any Elite parts that I can safely craft right now or should I wait for the asteroid resource equation to be fixed (if ever)? I'm particularly curious about reactor, shields and capacitator and how they measure up to Mark V and RE'ed stuff.

Hi there.


I have experimented on all of the elite non weapon parts and its pretty disappointing really.


Using my best quality resources the capacitors fall way short of even level 6 REd caps. Talking about 40ish regen and 1200 energy. The maintenance is a lot higher too


Shields are not so bad. With high quality resources you can push shields between 3400-3500 f/b


Engines are worse than crafted Mark Vs. Best I could get was around 115 speed with 56 y/p/r


Reactor I got to just under 25k energy regen but I dont know how that compares to a mark V because i've never made one before.


Crafted Elite Boosters are probably the worst of the elite crafted, considering that i have a REd level 4 booster that both has higher energy/recharge and even top speed than the elite made with a lot of high quality resources.


I'd recommend that you wait for some kind of asteroid fix before making pretty much everything except the shields as these components are pretty resource intensive for very little or no improvement.

Keep in mind that there is currently a problem with some stats being required on the new POB components that the asteroid resources don't have. I do know the devs working to correct this. Till then we can't say the final result of these components.

HAHA I should have read the above poster's whole message before posting mine haha, yeah like they said.

Some POB components have that problem, others don't. Elite engines, for example, have their top speed based on OQ and PE, but it calls for aluminum, steel and two asteroid resources. None of these have a PE stat, so that's counted as 0, meaning until it's fixed the highest you can experiment is 50%. Elite engines with 50% speed just aren't that great.

The Null Bolt Blaster experiments fine, however, as do shields and reactors. All of these turn out pretty dang well and are a significant upgrade over Mk V equipment. Armor should be fine, too.

Can't say about the other parts, but you should be able to tell whether they'll experiment okay if at least one of the resources involved has the stats that are factored into the part's experimentation percentages.

Here's the stats on the parts I made, off the top of my head (give or take some error)...

Y-8 Capacitor - ~1650 energy, ~43 recharge
POB Capacitor - ~1500 energy, ~40 recharge, Mark V is ~1200, high 30's?
POB Shield - ~3490 f/b, ~15 regen?, Mark V is ~2300, 11?
POB Armor - pretty much same as Mark V, but with higher hitpoints (and mass, heh)
POB Reactor - high 24k gen (I think), Mark V is ~19.5k gen

haven't made weapons yet, or some of the other Y-8 parts.

Note that the parts like armor that I couldn't do much for experimentation are explained via Tomo's posts above. Same goes for others too, but for the resources I had, some (like y-8 cap) were fine during experimentation.

Just putting my input here... i'm relatively new to SW... but recently tried crafting a few POB elite sheilds and mark V sheildfor comparisions...


Mark V with intensifier


~2100 F/B


~15.5 Recharge


~43k mass


~ 3.8k Energy



POB Elite Sheildswith intensifier


~3200 F/B


~20 Recharge


~250k mass


~ 4.3k Energy



Before experimenting the pob sheild with an intensifier starts off with around amassive 3k front and back, so i put most into recharge, which proved to make quite an improvment i feel...

With 250K mass how are you supposed to fit these into any POB ship beside the Y-8? Have the bumped up the mass on the Nova, Deci and YT? My Nova is still 500K max mass.
