Thread: I have abused my heavy x-wing. :( any way to restore the chassis?
brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Can shipwrights fix this?
you know, there would be mad credits to be earned if you guys could do chassis jobs on the ROTW ships.
Do you know if restoring chassis could ever happen? If this were any ordinary craftable ship, I'd just go buy another one, but this ship is a one time deal, it would be sweet to see someone able to make it shiney new again.

That is one current beef that is undecided on whether they will ever create a chassis repair kit for these ships. It has been talked about, but mainly amongst SWs. Like everything else, wait and see...and post in the mean time.
Now armed with this info, Ill try to post when I can about it, maybe even get the pilots to start talking about it. Two proffs with the same beef is better than one.
The way repair works:
1000 dmg repaired = loss of 100 points
10 dmg repaired = loss of 1 point
Ship or Part at 9.9 or less hitpoints/armor = loss of ZERO points when repaired.
The 'misconception' that Shipwrights earn money from decay is a farce, you rarely do (except armor components). Why replace something if it still works? Only Space PvPers (near non-existant) and the uninformed care about hitpoints. Add to the fact you can repair anything to full condition (if you don't die) without decay by jumping to Deep Space for a free repair, well, you see Shipwrights get screwed....
it comes down to the fact that I have no time to punch out because my chassis is at such a low number to begin with.
The chassis gives you as a pilot time to eject before you take on massive wounds from being blasted from the stars. Trust me, it sucks to only see the eject button flash for half a second before you blow up.
ever tried to get wounds healed lately?
Edited, my mouth got infront of my brain

Right, I am aware of how decay works.
Check the title. I beta tested JTL

oh yeah, i know the felling. In fact, i was killed, recloned then killed in matter of moments after. That hurt, and docs are hard to find.
As a SW though, i don't have much sympathy for your ship. I see it as a lost sale for every reward ship, even though soon, i will get one or two myself, but i will never use them for something that has any real risk of loss. Your reward ship is a reward like any other. Even weapon and armor rewards can be fixed with a cost to there overall quality and have potential to fall apart. They are not ment to fully get around the crafters permenantly, that would hurt all the crafters who play and ruin the game for me. I don't want to have a new kit to fully repair chassies, it would to me seem a bandaid to the annoyance instead of a way to make crafters and combatants happy. I don't like the last resort fixes cause it tends to aways be a nerf on one profession or another, if not multiple professions. Un-just nerfs are the last thing i want.
Your ship is repairable to the extent like any other ship. I'm sorry you abused it so badly, just learn your lesson and don't do it with the next loot reward you get. ![]()
You can make at least a SW happy and buy a new chassie from them and not worry about never getting a new one again. Abuse the heck out of it and have fun. Thats the point of the game, for both combatants and crafters, or its really not a game but a worthless money sink. If you had fun with it, then it was worth having. At least it doesn't fall apart like armor or weapons on the ground game do. I lost a many that way.
You can still use it, just has more risk to your health than before.
