Ive been a very active master shipwright on the valcyn server since the second day of JTL and I have noticed this issue since way back and I wanted to see if you guys felt this warrented any attention.
I probably should have posted this months ago.
Issue: Because of the efficiency associated with crafting tier 4 ships to grind shipwright, the market on the valcyn server is still flooded with teir 4 ships selling for as much as starter ships. This compounded with the issue that low quality and high quality chassis have very little difference on purchasing decisions from a majority of the ship buying market have flooded the market with tons of tier 4 ships. Backpacks full sitting in most shipwrightsstockrooms.
so I propose these questions:
1. Since the shipright rush is over, is this still an issue?
2. Does just one new shipright on the server crafting 70 or more A-wings (or other teir 4 ship) have a continued impact on the tier 4 ship sales to warrent attention?

Slightly off-topic, but on my server (Radiant) there has been a flood of new master shipwrights by the respec route. Once respec is finally laid to rest, you may see a sudden rise in numbers of the low-quality, low-price chassis blueprints.

I have noticed that the A-wings on my vendor never sell, but I have sold every other tier 1-3 chassis I made while grinding SW. I am almost thinking about building more Tier 1-3 chassis, there is definately a market for them. I have not made a chassis to sell for a very long time, I just make them for myself. The cost of the resources to make a 66.5k mass A-wing is just not worth it since you can buy a 65k mass one for peanuts.

Have you flown an A-wing? 1.5k mass difference on an Awing is a massive difference. you need every bit of mass you can get on them. Especially now that there are all the various free ROTW quest ships out that blow the Awing out of the water performance wise.

I hear ya man. I still have 30 deeds sitting on my vendor from the grind.
But yeah, hopefully everyone out there is a respec, and we don't have gobs of tier 4 ships for cheap.

I am not rich by any means, but I am happy with my sales of all ships exept tier 4 because every time a new shipwright comes on to the market, he crafts a backpack full of them and dumps them on the market for cheap.
- Does this issue make me hate the game? no
- Does it ruine my gaming experience? no
- Is this issue as important as fixing space pvp, gcw, architect, ranger, image designer, tailor, or droid engineer? Absolutely not
Just wanting to see what you guys thought.

Yes I have and I agree with you. I have a 66k mass one sitting on my vendor that has been there quite a while. Noone is willing to pay 5cpu for it since the market is full of 1-2cpu A-wings with 65k mass.

Sturngard,
You are correct on basically any Tier 4 ship.
1) Ihad thought I would of sold more Rihkxyrk's than I had. I think most Freelance pilots just stick with thier Dunelizard all the way through Master Level. So basically they avoid this ship and the Ixiyen.
2) From my past experience, Rebel pilots in most instances have skipped the A-Wing in favor of their X-Wing through Master Level. Now with rotw in place, the demand for both the A-Wing and X-Wing have been less. Now I did craft a few Z-95 heavies and soldthem rather quicklyand then kept one for myself. Sure the ship has nice mass at @95k or so, but it takes more patience. I personally hate the spread of the weapon shot vs the A-Wing or for that matter the Y-Wing Longprobe.
3) Now for the Imp pilots, they seem to like their TIE Advanced over theTIE Agressor. The Advance sales are more consistant.
My thoughts...I'm quite content and see myself keeping with this profession for some time to come.

I'm not big on building a vette either...too many resources. But all the ship components should have to be craftable. I would really like to see SW only quests for uber schematics of a limited run. Not sure if this has been brought up, but if SWs are given a quest that allows us to produce an uber item, how about making these types of craftable items able to be RE'd? Run a quest that grants a schematic for an uber level 8 engine, and then allow it to be RE's to make it better than anything on ther servers. Anyone else like this idea?

I've probably only sold one A-Wing since JTL launched. But I always thought that was because most of the pilots I know are Imperials or Privateers. I think of the Tier 4 ships, the TIE Advanced is the most popular. Or, it was, at least. I don't know anyone who flys the Tier 4 Privateer ship. (It starts with an 'R', we all know what it is, but there's no way I'm going to attempt to spell it.)
I know it sounds like a waste of resources, but to avoid the extra market flood, you might wanna take the XP bonus from 'Practice mode'.
