Ok I am new to the whole flying thing... I plan on getting my imp novice pilot tonight... but last night I bought a light duty tie fighter from a vendor. I paid 5k credits for it. It is in my inventory, but when i click on it, it only has the options to drop, examine, and destroy it. I read it when i examined it...and it is a blue print for a tie fighter...My question is.. how do i make in into a ship? is there anybodyI can give it to to make it so that I can fly it? I am on the Flurry server... but any info would be great....Thanks.........

They are in every major starport like Theed and Coronet for example. They turn the chassis blueprint you buy from a shipwright into a chassis deed. Then you can generate the ship from that deed. Then you can go to the starship terminal and start putting things in it. Check out the pilot forum, they have great "learning to fly" guide.

Side issue no one has mentioned yet, the chassis you purchased is just that - a chassis, you need to buy an engine and all the other kit to go in it.

However - before you go spending loads of money - the trainer will give you a basic ship (similar to the one you have, but with slightly smaller mass probably) and it has basic kit in it that you can either leave in that ship or transfer to your new one.

If you are going imp pilot and have cash to spend see if you can find a shipwright to supply a "Heavy TIE", they need asteroid resources so will not be cheap (and use 48k of normal stuff) but have 95k mass compared to your around 11-12k and should get you up to tier 3 with little problem. You will need 1xxx Pilot before you can use it, but that's just 4 missions and you have it.

Final hint - don't, whatever you do, choose Storm Squadron (Tatooine)!

All ships have the ability to jump to lightspeed now. You should really go to the pilot forum and read these links

Pilot FAQ

Learning to Fly

For every question we answer here, it will probably bring many more to mind. Most of the answers you are seeking can be found in those two links.

Well, I meant as a first pilot, someone new to JTL will get discouraged by SS missions. (Oh, and I do happen to have a SS ace on TC)
