Thread: Frustrated noob

Well, I tried from both ends and all 4 sided. I go up real slow till I bump it then active the beam and nothing. Is there a gauge or something that shows the progess of something being transfered. Dam, this is so frustrating. I have spent over an hour on this. 27m is the closest I got.



After starting the tractor beam, is there anything else I am suppose to do? Do I need to sit there for 1/2 an hour or is the transfer quick?


I really don't know what to do?

Hmm....ok, other couple of possible issues:


1) Make sure the tractor beam is NOT in a turret spot but is pilot controlled.


2) Make sure you have space in your inventory AND have no "Iron Asteroid" in there (backpack is ok).


The transfer should be quick (c. 1min or less and is a mass spam of system message "incrementing resource" when it works).


The total is 500 units which appear in your inventory directly.

the problem with this mission is it gets bugged if you are grouped ... had me wound up for about an hour, then I disbanded and it worked perfectly

I got a traktor beam on my quest. I am suppose to find a freightor unload the cargo and then destroy it. I used the tracktor beam and it did nothing. I had it selected and pointed the white beam at the green dot in the middle and nothing happened. Imoved to to 70 meters and still noting. I hit the docking button(U) and it docked and said the freight was transfered, I did not see it in inventory, but thought it was on of those quests where you don't see the stuff.
anyway, I blew up the freighter and got the message mission failed. how do I get the tractor beam to work right. Is there a button I'm suppost to hit after I point the white beam on the target. I read the faq, but it did not have anything on the tractor beam execpt that it was better then collecting with a mining laser.

Get closer, preferably touch it then activate the tractor beam.
