Thread: Why I think it is a bad time for new content
why are you posting it here? Put it into the Core System or general game forum.
Every expansion has had bugs. This game has had bugs since the begining. They are working on the bugs, they will get fixed when they find the problems and while they do that, go find other things to do. Quest don't stop you from doing other quests.
Unfortunatly I completly agree with you. I would say the SW's are really just now starting to get their wind on my server. Space PvP is still very weakly understood accept on maybe 2 or 3 servers. So many bugs. I think a good overhaul of rotw would give time for jtl to mature a bit more.
Fuss
We all hate bugs. I have yet met anyone who loves a bug. But the devs have a team on bug finding, a team on content building. You can't put all the devs in one basket. You would end up with to many hands in the cookie jar and honestly, nothing would get done. It would be like taking your car in to get serviced. Yeah, you want them to fix it now. But would it get fixed quicker if you had 1 skilled tech who knew how to fix the problem or 15 of them. With 15, no one would be able to get any part done because the other 14 are in the way.
Yes, i want the bugs fixed too, but i also want the game to grow. Right now, i am not fully satisfied with all the content. I feel a great gap in the crafter side of content. I want it put in just as fast as the bugs are fixed.
One of the biggest problems mmo's have with bugs is that they hide really really well inside thousands apon thousands of lines of code. The more complicated and complex the codes are, the harder it is to find the bug. But right now, we had two major expansions hit us. That is twice the coding thrown in than ever before. We had the CU expansion, and we had RotW expansion. That has doubled the work. They will get bugs fixed, just be patient. Take a deep breath and don't get frustrated by it. That only causes more anger and flaming threads.
Think of new things you would love to see in the game, try testing bug fixes that come into the Test Servers, which ever one they throw up at the time. The big thing about mmo's and well, any bit of technology today is; if you stop all advancement for bugs, you competition will exceed you in all the other areas. Then the company might have a perfectly working product, but is 2, 3, or more generations behind. That costs money, profits, and customers. Yeah, we want bugs fixed, but we also need a mmo that is constantly expanding and improving to increase the fun. Bring in new people and stay on top of new developements and ideas.

He hit that nail on the head with a sledge hammer. To many people working on code is worse then not enough. Have you ever seen what happens when even 3 people work together on code? They spend most oft eh time talking and making sure they don't duplicate or undo each others work.
