Thread: Firespray and RE'ing methods... any difference?

would help if we knew what method 1 and 2 are...
Method 1 is the first paragraph (i.e. level 2 = 2 of exact same item).
Method 2 is the second paragraph (i.e. level 2 = any 2 level 2 items).
Hehe, the method numbers aren't explicitly written but implied by the order of reference. ![]()

so you could stick a lvl.2 reactor in with a level 2 engine and itd be fine?
Oh come on, are you here to help or to harass?!? lol ![]()
Ofcourse they have to be the same type of component. Common sense dictates that a cpacitor would be worthless when trying to reverse engineer engines.

So the question is: Do you guys use method #2 and how successful have you been at it?

I use Method #2 exclusively. Method #1 is too time consuming and provides no better value, in my opinion. I've gotten one full set of Firespray schematics from it and am now working on my second set. How "successful" you are is entirely random, as some days I would get none, some days I would get a couple and on one day I got multiples of the same part. My observation (and it is only an observation) is that the chance appears to be tied to the RE level of the loot item. So there appears to be a random chance that is modified by the level of component that you are using.

I generally do 300-400 parts per session.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll be switching to #2 now because as you said, it's a lot more efficient - faster to pick parts and a lot fewer unmatched parts left over when I'm done.
I was just concerned about the loot rate, but you seem to be having no trouble so my fears have been removed.

Is the 200 -300 the number of parts before you RE or the number you end up with after you RE?
300-400 is the number of parts I start with. I generally end up with about 1/3 that when I'm done.
