First of all, don't get me wrong... I think SWG is great, but I just can't understand why everything is either bugged to bits or just plain wrong!?
For example, the whole process for Shipwright against Pilot is weighted completely wrong! Pilot is so easy to grind and move up through the ranks quickly, while Shipwright is a constant drain on cash AND resources and takes ages! Basically all that is happening is we're back with the same situation with Armoursmith - where there's no point starting being an Armoursmith now 'cos no-one wants the armour you can craft until you can craft Composite.
It takes that long to get just to the next ability to craft a new chassis with Shipwright, that the chances of filling a row and then finding a pilot who can't just grind through the first few levels is very slim! When I started as Novice Shipwright to of my mates were Novice Pilot's. By the time it's taken me just to get 1 box filled (for Y-Wing chassis) they're already on the third Pilot level... slightly lop-sided progress through the professions me thinks - come on... sort out this mess!!
Plus, does anyone else get no xp for crafting All-Purpose Ship Repair Kits? I don't get even 1 point... why?

Not sure why it took you SOOO long to get to master S/W I went from novice artisan to master S/W in about 6/7 hours. In which time most people had'nt goten to tier 2.

Cost to buy materials for shipwright (not including Master, since I don't yet know what a T4 ship will take in materials):
Master - ?(2mill xp.... @ ~1.2 creds per point)
Tier 4 - 7,200,000 creds @ 3cpu
Tier 3 - 4,320,000 creds @ 3cpu
Tier 2 - 1,440,000 creds @ 3cpu
Tier 1 - 720,000 creds @ 3cpu
Novice - 20,000creds @ 3cpu
--------------------------------------------
MSW-13,500,000 creds, not including master, at 3cpu with all-bought resources.
Master esitmate - 2,400,000 so total becomes:
Master esitmate - 2,400,000 so total becomes:
15,900,000 credits to buy all the materials needed at 3cpu to become master.
Now, I didn't buy ALL my materials, and some of the grind hulls will sell eventually... but still...
Yet everyone is complaining about prices... *sigh*.
I put my hulls up for cost, sold ONE.
I put my hulls up for cost, sold ONE.
Put them at half-cost, we'll see how that goes.
That means I'll need to recover my investment elsewhere, eventually.

It doesn't help that on every planet, /find trainer:merchant "...unable to find...", and non-afk master merchants are impossible to locate.
BUT
A LOT of MSW are reporting 3mill plus in sales PER DAY.
So... yeah, seems balanced to me, over the long-term.

merchant trainers are easy to find. Any NPC city with the university (with the trainers for DE, Architech etc) should have a merchant trainer as well.
Otherwise, head for Dearic, there's one just outside the starport.

hmm, i harvested ALL of my SW grind's resourses (on my alt) using both of my chars, and a few of my guildies lots. took me about 3 weeks of harvesting, and driving myself nuts looking for spawns and WP's, but it cost me overall only about 2-2.5 mil in harvesters and mait.
i too have had a hard time sellingmy very well priced chassis and components, but they do go, and i have made back about a mil so far...
so dont lose hope

So... it cost you about $50 plus the time and effort of running 3 toons rampant... or you could have done it in 3 months instead of 3 weeks...?
Sorry, I won't spend RL money on multiple accounts. :}
But this cash grind + 5 harvesters is driving me bananas lol!
I have no doubt I'll get there.
P.S.:
Vel - thanks for the tip.
