someone explain....
will having a shipwright RE my looted components make them better? and if so, how?

Each bit of loot you get has an RE level.
For example lvl 1 RE stuff needs just the 1 item. Level 2 RE loot needs 2 RE level 2 items of the same type to RE, and so on.
At RE level 1, you get a 1% bonus to the item stats, RE2 gets a 2% bonus. I think this applies to each RE level, but I keep forgetting to check the % increase on lvl 5, 6 and 7 RE'd loot.

Look at the stat's on item;
example of L2 Weapons capacitor I RE'd
Capacitor L2 RE
capacity 400
recharge 39.0
Capacitor L2 RE
capacity 900
recharge 24.0
After putting those in re tool I got this;
L2 Capacitor with a capacity of 918 and a recharge of 40.0.
it uses the best stat's of each item + a small % increase (depends on level of part) to figure out the RE'd part stat's

So to get something RE'd do you have to match the name and level of the component? Or just the level?
Say I find a kick ass Kuat capacitor that is a lvl 9, do I need to find 9 other KUAT capacitors? or just any level 9 capacitors?

How many times does this have to be answered before people decide to use the search function?
No they do not have to have the same name, only the RE level (which can be different from the cert level) and the type (ie capacitor, engine, weapon, etc)
