Just a note to you all,

I checked in today, but I will still be mostly away till this weekend. The dev's asked for the most critical issue and that seems to be the new POB only components and such schematics asking for stats that don't exsist on the asteroid resources they call for.

I put that in as our number one issue right now. I know some of you would still like to see force sensitive trade ins for our shipwright experience but as it is now, that is not in the plans as far as I can see.

Thanks for keeping this board calm and cooperative while I've been away. See you all soon.

The problem is not that the schematic calls for a stat the asteroid resource don't have, the problem is when the schematic calls for a stat none of the resources have. For schematics that only use asteroid resources it's the same, but this could be easily fixed for PoB components like booster, where PE is a relevant stat and they changed the only resource that has the stat (liquid petrochem fuel) for asteroid resources, so none of the resources used have PE.

BTW, a PYR component like someone propose is something the devs should give a thought. To get the ubber speeds of crafted engines we need to use the engine overdriver anyway, so a PYR component would force as to choose what to improve, PYR or Speed. On the other hand I wouldn't penalize speed on this new subcomponent or speeds would be again too low.

Ok,

I need everyone who has a good example of the problem, to post your input on this issue. I want to make sure I capture all angles.

Thanks,

It's easy to keep a board calm and cooperative when we know the correspondant actually takes care of as much as possible.

As to the bug, whatever the resource values have on the ground should be the same type of requirements from space. Even if its 500 avg stats, at least that will give some points toward the crafting.

BTW, could these bugs have caused the crafting sucess/failure rates to change? Just wondering.

This may not fall under the shipwright catagory but what about:

A) the mining quest to get the y-8 is broken. Nothing spawns when entering the Kashyyyk system for the "Escort a convoy of Y-8 ships" mission. Thus, we can't get the Y-8 anymore.

B) The Y-8is being revamped to be better at mining and interior fixed.

Probably not as big of an issue as the asteroid resources but having a nice mining vessel would help us out a lot.

I'll try to give you hard numbers (not difficult, just need the time) but I won't be able to do it today.

Do we really need FS skills? i dont agree. It will force us to craft tons of ships, sold 1 cpu. Market would be broken.

Moreover, im a full artisan (shipwright-merchant and respec droid engineer). I grinded sw knowing that FS wasn t reachable. So i surrended all my combattant skillson myway. If this rule change, should i respec to have little fighter abilities, just to pass Mellichae? What a waste of time.

it s only a full artisan humble opinion.

Just wanted to remind everyone that this thread is about the Asteroid stat issue. What I need posted in here is your understanding of how the issue effects the end result of items crafted with asteroid resources.

If you have input on other issues please use the Shipwright bugs and issues sticky to point you to the proper place. Your input works best when it is all together under the proper thread. Makes it easy to put in a report.

Thanks!

Yeah, the Resource Stat issue needs to be adressed, and the sooner the better

In addition, I think a real serious issue concerns the "quality bar" not working correctly in our crafting tools. It doesn't show the "quality" of the resource until it has been loaded (actually, I have found that it does sometimes work correct, but this is at best intermittent). It would be great if they devs could fix this for us.

Sorry it took me so long to get the resources I needed to get some numbers, but I hope this post http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=profshipwright&message.id=24454 (sorry, can't clicky) has the numbers you need.

Don't just say that the stats on the asteroids is the problem, tell them that the POB parts are not good enough to make POB ships effective!

Is it that they're not effective or that because the asteroid resources don't have the necessary qualities to make them effective? I just read a post posted above(I forget the name already...it's early morning for me and I'm only on my first cup of coffee =X) but the poster ran an experiment crafting one mark v vs an elite part for shield and engine I think? And it showed that if the asteroid resources had the missing quality that the original resource the asteroid replaced had (for example PE when crafting boosters I beleive it was) then the elite parts would be in the correct range, rather than worse than the mark v counterpart. If that is the case (I haven't tried making any elite parts yet - still trying to find the time to do some serious mining!), then it would seem that all that is needed is for one of two things to happen: add that quality to the corresponding resource or remove that quality as part of the equation for the elite part.

If the above makes no sense, I'll make sure I don't post again until I've had more than 1 cup of coffee

Edited to add link that AhrienTerrik had aleady posted heh
