As far as I know, we shouldn't be able to RE crafted components, only un-REd loot.
It looks like a bug, I don't think you should be able to place crafted components in a CAT.

I guess it's possible, but only if you suddenly got stupid and needed to rediscover your own secrets.

Only parts with a "Reverse engineer number" can be RE'ed.. and then ofcourse the Firespray Discs, with 8 different in the tool.
It might be possible to put other stuff into the tool, but it cannot be RE'ed.

If you have extra firespray disks you can place them in the CA tool and hope you get a 0 mass part :>

Yes, but.
1) it's a bug
2) it's a 'sploit
3) you're more likely to get 0 min damage, max damage, hit points, armor points, etc.
