Ok, so I did the Nym's Starmap quest and I ended up with a real clunker engine. Some of the YPR was good, so its not a total bomb, but I think the speed was 88.3 or something. I've looted faster level 8 engines.

Anyway, my question is where do I go from here? I feel like I blew my only opportunity to get a competitive engine. I see posts where people have looted 100+ speed engines and I think to myself how can I fly a "fast" fighter in pvp against someone like that? I might as well be flying a freighter.

Will there ever be loot engines to compare to a really sweet Nym's reward engine? Is there a way to repeat the Starmap quest? I've seen a lot of RE jobs you guys have done and its pretty depressing when I look at what I've got. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat. I'd love to know a way to do this quest over.

I got a 80.8 TS one, I RE'd it with a Haor Chall MIlitary Grade Engine (privateer tier 4 reward) which has a 88 or 89 speed, which did make it better. TS isnt everything especially in PvP. Shrugs luck of the draw.

Fuss

Get someone on another server to make a char on yours and walk him through the quest. Do the same for him on his server. Delete chars, rinse and repeat until you bothget one you like.

Welcome to the club. I got an 88.4. I made quite a screenshot of me scolding Nym for it LOL. Oh well, at least my weapon broke 4K, and I still have an alt to do it with.

I did this quest twice(once with main and once with my alt) I then chucked both reward engines into and RE soup and ended up with a top spd of 99.8 ypr of 88

so you might want to see if you can purchase some none RE'd engines and RE the reward engine.

if you have the time and the friends however if you do do this using the alt on another server method listed above you could get the required amount of engines to chuck them all into an RE and make a super engine

You got a PYR of 88? Are you sure about that? An 80 PYR is good for a level 10 engine, a PYR of 88 sounds a bit too high.

I can understand your disappointment, but if you have looted faster L8 engines, then use one of those. 88.5 is the same speed as the Hoar Chall Freelance reward engine. I use an REd one of these in PVP and have been successful against all but a few of the top pilots on my server. You need PYR in PVP, not top speed. If you're in PVP and you have your 93 speed 70s PYR L8 engine and they have a 104 speed 70s PYR L8 enging, they do not automatically win. Far from it.

Besides, the slower L8 engine with the same PYR will have a smaller turning circle. Top speed just helps you get to the space station faster after taking the express bus out of deep space.

Thanks guys. Its just frustrating to know that other guys can have the same YPR as me and a faster top speed than I could ever have because of some random stat. I'll look into some of your suggestions though.

I'll do a cross server quest trade with you if you want. I'm Wookiecrisp on Bloodfin. I'm pretty sure I can get a lvl 1 player through the spider cave if the lvl 1 player follows me and we both use parwan with 100% reuse time reduction.

I'm interested in doing this. I'm not just looking for the QID though, also looking to get the shields and weapon. We can skip the armor part though.

I'm CL 80 and can easily get you through the quest. Also have a crate of 100% reduction in burst run timerfood in my inventory and ready to go.

It sounds like a good idea but unfortunately I don't have time to commit to doing it anytime soon.
