Thread: Lvl 8 loot guns with low damage?

I haven't seen anything over 3300 max damage on a looted gun in the last 2 months. Have the Lvl 8's been nerfed?

I've never heard of this vengeance ion cannon. What quest rewards that?

It's a Ryyatt reward, I believe. Part of the Avatar quest leadup.

The Borstel Disruptor and Incom Tri-cannon Tier 4 rewards are the best for min AND max damage in the L8 category. The only blaster that could possibly challenge that is the Vengeance Ion Cannon, and that's only due to the dynamic rewards system.

I understand that the quest L8 guns are stronger, but I've been seeing 2800-2900 dmg guns and little else. I've got 4 non-reward guns 3200 to 3600. Maybe it's me, but it just seems like the damage for L8 guns got stealth-nerfed sometime recently. On the plus side, the L6 guns have been dropping frequently and with 2500+ damage, as well as decent weight and RED.

Personally, I have NEVER seen an L8 gun outside of the Borstel Disruptor/Incom Tri-Cannon that had ANY damage value worth even glancing at.
That includesRotW equipment.
But really, does it MATTER in the slightest? Grind through a couple more squadrons, any Rebel or Freelance one, and you have what you need.
It's going to be a TON faster than trying to LOOT something better, heh(and it gets faster each time you do it).

do a galaxy-wide vendor search for the Borstel..if anyone has any, you'll find the prices pretty quick. Oh, and a price of 99999999 means its not for sale

A price of 99999999 should be off the vendor search.
To me, a desirable piece of loot listed for an outlandish price says "I'll sell this for the right price - this is just to make sure no one's going to ACTUALLY buy it."
Also, unless you find a fool selling it for 8-80k, I'd charge about 1.6 mill for a Borstel simply because I like having a healthy stock of them (for when WO3 eventually gets fixed - plus I come across quite a few L8s), and the only way to get more is to grind pilot trees, which costs time, which in turn costs someone profit. 1.6 is a fair asking price for that.
