I'm a stubborn MSW and am mining all of my asteroid resources by myself. I have been stocking up for at least a week or more, but it seems to be going slow. I currently have 30k or 40k units of asteroids, but it seems like that's *not*enough. How are you guys doing?
Also, I noticed in the log notes that all resources that are 1250 will now be 625. Is this the only ones being cut in half? Does that mean the Large Y-8 Cargo Hold will still be 3000 units?

Well once the new mining changes go in mining will not be that bad.

Ready as I'll ever be. Maybe I'll actually buy ROTW so I don't have to buy the stuff anymore....

Only crafting out a few sets of components for my own ships and one or two others, so my needs aren't huge. Something like 10k of each atm.

I've been trying to finish Pilot so I can build a nice POB after patch. 500k experience and the master missions to go!

One thing I'm not clear on from the Patch notes, will the Y-8 work if there's only a single pilot, or will it still demand a crew?

The way I understand the Y-8, it is designed to provide a group with something to do in space. Only with a full crew will you get the most out of your Y-8.

Of course you can fly a Y-8 solo, but you won't want to since it will be worthless solo. As far as getting ready for pub 24, I mined enough asteroids to refit my YT-1300 and that's it. People need to mine their own asteroids if they want me to build them stuff. Kind of like, you need to bring your own krayt tissues to your weaponsmiths.

You can solo mine with the Y-8 now, just not very well... Because of the size of the hold, I think a Y-8 with a pilot and gunner will be able to outpace a single fighter. I doubt a bigger crew can outpace the same number of fighters though.
