Came across a good post on it ealier nad since lost it.
Basically, you'll want to be making ship chassis. I would advise you to keep each one and sell them since it appears from previous posts that there's little improvement on ships as you gain more exp and increase resource qualities.
I started last night and after 3 hours i was able to get to 4400 without using any macros and having to shuttle from Lok to Bestine each time I needed training.

The top sticky is the shipwright guides and reference material, the 3rd question in the FAQ is :
How do I grind Shipwright?
Crafting Chassis takes the least amount of time. You get 1/4 xp per resource in Shipwright, and Chassis are big, very very big. Here's the breakdown:
16 Tier 0 [Z-95, TIE-LD, Syck] ships to 1000
13 Tier 1 [Y-wing, TIE-F, Dunelizard] ships to 2000
13 Tier 2 [Y-wing LP, TIE-I/N, Kihraxz/Kimogila] ships to 3000
10 Tier 3 [X-Wing, TIE-B/TIE-I, Ixiyen] ships to 4000
55 Tier 4 [A-Wing, TIE-Adv, Rihxyrk] ships to Master
I think that's a decent template. Too bad you can't inspire yourself, but atleast you can head to the cantina and play a bit for a break from crafting.

Also, seeing that you now CAN increase your xp markedly (15% is decent when you know how much each craft nets you) by musician insp buffs, we need to retool the resource requirements so people don't spend millions on resources they won't end up using.

you can sped up the chassis grind by 5% if you use practice mode every time. use the cheapest steel you can get. 34 OQ? no prob, the grind chassis are throw-aways anyway. The market appears to be just components. I've got over a hundred chassis from my grind period that havn't sold, for months..shoulda used practice mode and saved some cash for Master level resources...5% of ~6 million is a nice bit of cash...

I would suggest finding a shipwright to buy your ground out chassis. If you experiment them for 50%+ mass they're just fine chassis and I was at one point incredibly willing to buy chassis from noob shippies.

would it be a good idea (to save as much money as possible) to try and gain all the resources b4 the grind, ive currently got 11 harvies all running, and have some guildies hopfully getting mesum resources, i hope this cna save me some money.
Has anyone else used this tactic? if so what were the results (money wise)?

I personally think it's a good idea to try and mine as much of the steel and ore that you can personally, then buy the trace resources, since there's usually no shortage of 1CPU Iron, Aluminum, Fiberplast, and Inert Petro out there.
Ore is the pain in the ass - you can find a vein and find out 6k later that it tops out at 50%.
Also, I WISH SOMEONE WOULD DO THE MATH AND RETOOL THE RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS WITH THE NEW 15% XP BOOST FROM THE NEW MUSICIAN BUFFS!
