Thread: POB Chassis PUB24, are you guys stocking up?

I am unsure if I should start a decent stock of POB ships before the next publish hits. Are you guys stocking chassis before?

Don't get too anxious, if there are changes to the POB chassis, it's likely only to apply to chassis AFTER the publish.

I think what he means is, stock up on POB chassis now because when the new elite parts come out, people will actually want to buy a POB ship. Personally, I just do special orders so I won't be stocking up on anything.

I know what he is saying, and even though they are saying the Y-8 will be retroactively changed, they haven't said anything about any changes tothe other POB's. It doesn't look like they ARE going to change anything, but just because they aren't saying they are going to change them doesn't mean they aren't going to change them.


The simple fact that on TC they are taking out SD's with Y-8's tells me they are going to have to do something to avoid the Y-8 being the FOTM. No amount of buffing up the components is going to make up for the fact that all other POB's have 2 turrets and a lowly mining ship will have 4.

Without a lootbox the Y-8 may take things out, but you won't get any loot. In my book that makes it less attractive.

You don't need a lootbox to do the Corvette, do you? Mark my words, there will be nothing but Y-8's doing Ace Pilot missions if this goes live. POB and multiplayer ships are already being used as a cheap way togrind pilot XP, just talk someone into letting you go along for the ride and then you can go afk! I refuse to take people in my Krayt due to the fact that when I do, they end up not firing a shot. Manning a turret may be hard, but it's not THAT hard.


Besides, there was at least one POB without a lockbox that was later added, I see it being added to the Y-8 eventually just to be consistent. Ships will invariable attack you while you are mining, although it doesn't seem to be part of the spawn anymore, but you can't tell people legitimately defending their mining ship that they can't get the loot from the attackers.

I don't stock chassis under any circumstances because I won't use my superb resources to make ships. If someone wants a ship built, they can bring me all of the necessary resources and 30k credits, and I'll be happy to assemble.

I will start stocking a few. Three Reasons Why:

New POB Components are BS, not the ships.

New POB components are going to make me a fortune.

Ships are pretty good profit margin for me too. :>






It's all gone. And so am I.

no, i hate making PoB ships, if some one want s aPoB ship made, I just tell them to get me the resources required and i make it free. many people are just too lazy to go get the resources

Perhaps the use of the Y-8 discussion would be better debated in the Pilot Forum

I don't mind talking about it here, but I think the Pilot Forum is where this debate belongs.

So if the Y-8 comes in as planned, that's it for snub fighters taking out the corvette solo is it? There will be a mass apathy for all pilots to just up and stop taking on challenges?

As far as the question from the OP, I don't stock POB chassis, period. I'm not going to tie up 100k in resources on the *hope* that someone will stroll by and buy it.

i always maintain a stock of at least 4 of every master ship, and a few tier 4 ships, and they sell well, so i dont have to worry about people not wanting to buy them (because they already are, lol)



only thing i'm really looking forward to is the doubling of asteroid resource yields per asteroid chunk

I don't give a damn if POB shields were 50,000hp - go up against a Vette or an AI-equipped ship in something that damned big and you're gonna get ganked.
