Thread: New in business, please comment on my newly crafted gun

Hi


Just build an Experimental Blaster(red) with the following stats.

531.1/531.1 Armor

1062,4/1062.4 Hitpoints

2472.9 Reactor energy drain

36316.6 Mass

1740.9-3805.1 Damage

0.50 Vs Shields

0.50 Vs Armor

25.8 Energy/shot

0.344 Refire Rate


I used my 17pt shipwright suit, bespin port and fitted a damage max V component. I maxed at 97% max dmg, then put the rest of the points into vs.shield/armour and some refire rate. Please let me know how it is, and how it can be improved.

Average DPS comes to...:


(1.7k+3.8k)/2*(0.5+0.5)/2/.344 = 4.00k


My recently crafted experimental blaster:


(1.9k+3.0k)/2*(0.48+0.48)/2/0.27 = 4.35k


Mine is only 33k mass (needed to fit 3 in my heavy-x) but does have 30.1 energy per shot (with cap overload 4 and wo3 it doesn't matter though)


Yours would sell well, people see the 3.8k compared(hypothetically) tomy 3.0k, but my gun would deal more damage over time.


Best way I have found for effective guns is Quick Shot upgrade and refire rate exp. (oh, and I'm only 15pt weapon systems)

ok...This is my Quickshot version, made a few different ones.

I was under the impression that for DPS purposes, experimenting of Effectivness isn't beneficial. I don't know the math, but the experiment points you need to push it up to .500 might be better spent in Damage or Refire.

But, meh, I may be wrong. It happens all the time.

Personally, I like to max out refire rate (and I always use a quick shot upgrade), after which I dump the rest of my experimentation points into max damage. I created a simulation of crafting blaster cannons and found through extensive scenarior analysis that this combination gives you the best DPS.


By the way, don't forget to obtain a shipwright enhancement buff before crafting. The 2% resource quality bonus makes a difference.


Finally, rather than using Bespin Port, think seriously about going through the ordeal of making your shipwright force sensitive and earning Force Assembly IV and Force Experimentation IV. You will never experience anything less than an great success on your assembly and experimentation roll once you earn these force sensitive skills.

I'll vouch for her guns being some of the best. My 0.25s end up with about 300 less max damage, but that's mainly cause I tend to aim for the 33.3k mass version instead of 36. I could probably push it to within 75-100 of her max damage, but she always buys the good steel.
