I have done a search and have been able to find (thanks to the folks in this forum), that currently the only ships capable of using an astromech are the Z-95, Y-wing, and X-wing. However the information is rather dated and doesn't include some of the new ships. I assume the Actis (Jedi) starfighter has an active slot for an astromech, etc.
I have also noticed there is a "hole" behind the cockpit of the Scyk fighter that looks like it was meant for an astromech. Was this an intitial design that was later dropped by the devs, or is it in fact a funtioning astromech socket? I haven't been able to experiment with it to find out.
Thanks for your help!

Only rebel ships will have an Astromech, so the Scyk definitely won't. I believe the JSF does. Other than that, I'm just as clueless.

Right, the JSF does, but the Grievous uses a flight computer. Go figure.
