Thread: What profession did you choose to accompany your shipwright?
I was Tailor forever, and I found they were similar professions: close relationship with the customer, lots of custom orders, most stock handmade.
Problem is, my Shipbuilding business got really busy, and I ended up dropping Tailor. That was around the same time as the CU, and I killed my alt.
So now I'm Master Shipwright / Master Rifleman (Bowcaster!) / 0402 Merchant / 4043 Artisan
I don't need a lot of Vendors, I don't need to dress them (Wookiees all around), and I'm already on the Planetary map. The Efficency line is nice because of that 20% discount on Maint. When I have 8 Heavy harvs going, that's a lot of bank.
I think if I ever went back to double crafting, I'd try DE. When I was standing in line with my SWG Box back in August 2003, I was thinking 'I'll be a Wookiee who makes Droids!' Still have never tried it.
It's also the most complimentary crafting profession for Shipwright.
My shipwright:
Master shipwright (duh)
Master architect
Master merchant (a must to store all the resources we need)
4044 Artisan (have to be able to survey our own materials, buying isn't really an option)
My biggest recommendation is master merchant, or at least enough merchant skills to run your own vendors reliably. You'll want them for 2 reasons: (1) to sell your crafts, of course and (2) storage, storage, storage. Shipwrights, by far, have some of the largest storage requirements, with a lot of our items taking insane amounts of resources, but, almost more importantly, storage of parts waiting on RE's. I personally have a stock of about 2100 parts awaiting RE'ing. There's no other option short of master merchant for storing those amounts of items.
Master Shipwright / Master Artisan / Master Merchant
I did have a swoop/vehicles vendor for a while and it did very well, but shipwright keeps me so busy that I decided there's no way I'm concentrating on anything but that.
CL66 with Improved Force Aura...too bad I have no desire whatsoever to be a Jedi - I just refuse to piss away three complete lines, and it gives me rudimentary defensive capability.

Master Shipwright/Master Merchant/Master Armorsmith
Gotta make sure my Imp alt is protected ![]()
Thinking about DE, but gonna wait till they give DE's something bada$$ to create (Still got my token respec ta use on both alts )
Im Master SW-Master Artisan-Master DE- all skill points left in Merchant.
SW is so time consuming, i don t craft any other prof stuff.
So I may drop my Master DE to TKA, becauseim tired of one shot incap when i put my harvesters.
DE is my orginal profession (on that character) but I'm enjoying SW more these days given how messed up DE is
I picked up the following to compliment Master Shipwright:
- Master Droid Engineer, so that I could provide pilots with a one stop shop.
- Master Artisan, mostly to support Master Droid Engineer.
- Merchant 3/0/0/4 so that I could efficiently sell my wares.
- Force Assembly IV and Force Experimentation IV in order to increase the quality crafting.
