Thread: Please learn the market, your customer, and your product
so buy all of his and sell them for 250k
15k doesnt even pay for the roids that go into them, let alone trying to make money.
the fact you think you can get away with charging 500-800 cpu for such trivial items that take a mere 250 resources shows how clueless you are about your market customer and product. see the thread below on the eclipse forums.

They're not worth more than about 20k, especially considering so very few people actually FLY the ships they were meant for.

I love it when the greedy are caught out and there's nothing better than the greedy putting their foot in their own mouths.
Good work Az, keep it up mate. Hopefully this guy will go out of business soon.

Case in point - I've seen winglets on the damned bazaar.

I hate being called "few people"
Actually I made ace last night so YT for me!
I check the average market price everytime I have a crafting session. It only makes sense to be certain you are not way too high or way too low. I know at first I was "too busy" to care what other people were charging or what price the market would handle. I'm a little more responsible now.

I'll try to make a long story short here:
I was checking out my competitors on the bazaar awhile backand found that no one wasmaking ship mods (side strakes, winglets, etc.) on my server. I thought to myself, hmm, let's make a couple and see what happens. My philosophy on experimenting a market is to start my pricing high and then adjust from there. So I put my mods up for 250k, one of each ship. About 3-4 days later, they're all gone, even the Kimogila whichnot many fly. This was pretty nice to see that there's a demand for these, so I started making a few here and there, not many since they take up all my precious asteroid materials, but they keep selling. Then, about a week or so into this, somebody decided to put a ton on their vendor for only 15k. What the heck is this? I still had at least one on the bazaar when these were posted, so if this person had half a brain, he/she'd check the market and price accordingly, but nooooo. Now the market on ship mods are going to take forever to get back to where they should be, if never at all. Now, don't get me wrong, 250kmay behigh, but if you knew your customer, you'd know that they just take one duty mission, sell all their loot, and bam, there's 250k. One hour's work and you got some cool mods for your ship.
So, the moral of the story. PLEASE check the bazaar first before placing any new product or a product you haven't put up for awhile. The market could be completely different than what it was or what you'd think it should be. Blind pricing is just not smart. I check the market on all asteroid products often. On myground resource crafted items,I always use the same formula, but asteroid resource products change based on demand and resource availability.
Did you come here looking for approval to price gouge? Asteroid resources do not go for one tenth of the price you are trying to sell those parts for. If they do, your problem lies in your miner, not another crafter selling for a reasonable price. If he wants to sell something ata more than reasonable price, considering the cost of the resources, then maybe that is your first clue that your prices are far too high, no?
I know I will not be buying new items from your shop.
Besides, that whole asteroid resource market is in for a big change anyway.
