Thread: How to make a price list for RE'd Parts?

RE'd components can be very good and very valuable... or they can be junk, most RE'd items i see for sale is far from as good as they could be, thats why its hard to set a fixed price.

If you only RE the first 6 items you get then your price is probably fair for a level 6 job... but the item will not be very good either.

if you stockpile items for weeks and actively search vendors and bazaar as well as looting in space to find the best components for your RE job then you should probably not sell it on a vendor unless you price it *really* high.

I must beg you for one thing though:

If you use a really good component in a RE job, make sure you get all the other stats really good too.

A really good looted component will sell for more than a hastily RE'd component if someone is on an itemhunt for their own RE jobs.

I have sold shiploot at 10k per RE level on eclipse... days go by without a buyer, but then someone comes along who is looking for stuff for their personal RE job... and they buy as many as they need if the stats meet their requirements.

Are you saying that you can RE stuff more than once?!

I am goign to use that pricing plan for now becuase i am still workign my way up sw so the Reing wont be great yet. It is more to help out people trygin to get stuff that fits in the ship really.

Here is how i undertsnad it, please correct me if i'm wrong.

Example: REing a level 2 engine

I have two level 2 engines. One with great speed but really high mass, and another with bad speed stats but really low mass.

If i RE them i will get an engine with good speed and mass in between the ranges of the two original parts. Plus the stats will get a bonus which is dictated by how far up the "propulsion" tree i have gone.

Is that right?

No. here's how it should look:

"One with great speed but really high mass, and another with bad speed stats but really low mass.

If i RE them i will get an engine withgreat speed and really low mass. Plus the stats will get a bonus which is dictated by how high the RE level of the component is(1% for RE level 1, 2% for RE levels 2-3, 3% for RE levels 4-5, 4% for RE levels 6-7, 5% for RE levels 8-9, and 6% for RE level 10)."

It takes the BEST stats of all the ingredients, not an average or median. The lowest mass of all of them will be used before the final % from the level boost.

Does that look alright to you coz i tink it is a little steep.

It is not steep at all, you make no profit at that price since you can sell the parts to the chassis dealer for that price. Actually, you lose money if you count your vendor and house maintenance.

I used to use that price scheme for REd loot, but I was REing everything and the parts end up being average or below average. Now I collect stuff and RE for good components. I have sold a couple level 6 capacitors for 100k. They sell within a week of listing them. I am starting to think that the price is too low. I price my crafted components at 20cpu. If it's better than an equivalent crafted component, I price it above the crafted component. If it's worse, it goes to the chassis dealer.

ok, startign to understand it a bot better now. basically lump any crap stuff together to get an average RE job but hold onto anythgin with a really goos stat.

Can you RE everythign at the start of SW or can i only RE level 10 stuff when i hit master?

Sorry abotu my ignorance but not only is this my first vendor, it is also my first craftign profession.

Hi guys.

I have just started my first ever vendor (YAY!) but i have no idea hwo to price thigns up for people.

How would you gusy price items on a Reverese Engineered component vendor?

One suggestion i have had is use the components level to determien te price:

6 items at level 6 = 6k x 6k = 36k for a level 6 component.

Does that look alright to you coz i tink it is a little steep.

To give you an extreme example, the most I have ever sold an RE part for was an engine with the mass of a level1 component, and the Speed/Y/P/R of an upgraded level 5. Best RE I ever saw. Sold it for 500k.

This is genneraly how I price. If it has level 4 stats and level 3 mass, its worth a lot, level 4 stats and level 2 mass, worth even more. Then of course, take into consideration how much better it is than the best crafted counterpart. Basically, its a qualitative scheme, no hard formulas.

Right...So my best bet is to craft the best of each component i possibly can and use those as a baseline comparison for my RE jobs.
