well i jsut finished the quest and the y-8 is a deed not a schematic reward so we dont get to amek this ship, i really hpe its not going to be thesame for the other new siphs that dont appear as schematics

Grats on getting the ship (that was quick work) - sad to say it looks like the other new ships will indeed by a one you chasses/deed like the one you just got.

Hmm...maybe you should let us know the process to getting one of these ships? Go on...tell us what happened in the quest and how you did it!

Master Pilot (any faction)


the other new ships are certed at 4xxx Pilot (again any faction) except the heavy tier 0 fighters which just need the relevant novice pilot.

This statement isn't entirely correct. I see many schematics for new ship chassis. And the looted components I've seen so far are inferior to what I've been crafting.

Most of the cool gear in this expansion is quest-related and has nothing to do with crafters: Cybernetics, new ship chassis, special weapons. I'm not a software developer, so I am not going to pretend I know what's involved in making these items craftable, but come on...how difficult could it have been to have some of these items limited use schematics so crafters can get in the action?? Even some of the Clone relics could fall into this category!

As a Droid Engineer, the biggest letdown for me was the cybernetics being denied us...but that's for another forum.

If you read the history ofthisforum you will find that looted are significantly better than crafted. In fact, it is one of the SW top 10 issues (see the sticky). Perhaps you are looting low-level stuff. Go to Kessel asone example and compare that loot. There is no comparison. The same holds true for all levels of components but especially for engines and capacitors. Again, read the sticky.


RotW:


Imperial Royal Guard TIE = not craftable

Jedi Starfighter = not craftable

Greivous Starfighter = not craftable

Y-8 = not craftable

ARC-170 = not craftable


What is craftable in RotW:

High mass versions of the 3 starter ships. So, um, yea, there are some new schematics. Are you excited about these 3? I know I am not.

Um the "high mass starter ships" arnt high mass. The strakes are just for show.


The only new truehigh mass ships in the expansion is the quest ships.

Not quite - the high mass starter ships (which incidentally need 50k of resources, 2k of which is asteroid) are 95k Mass give or take. They are very "High Mass" compared to the Prototype ships most people use at that level.


Of course whether people will use them is another matter?


For neutrals I think not - the Dunelizard is too easy to reach and has the second gun slot. Imperials and Rebels might, at least till they reach a better cert up the tree.


The modifications (for Z-95, X-wing, Kimo, Rihk, TIE Adv) are just for show and serve no useful purpose.
