Thread: The anti-shipwright devs: a double whammy
Hey CommTampers,
I can tell you are not at all happy with the "reward ships". I've already posted to the devs about the community concern regarding non-craftable ships. Hang in there, I'll let shipwrights know as soon as I have more info.
As far as the mission is concerned, when I get to that point I plan on getting a group together to help me. Considering the chassis is a reward and doesn't cost credits, I could justify spending a decent amount on hiring players to help if my guildmates are all offline that day.
I've already seen some of these ships for sale on the trade forums as well, so if you have the credits, you can get them that way too.

Err.... I wonder if they realise they need the quest flag to fly the ship?
(Putting aside the fact it is bugged and not recognising questflag- as I understand it you don't need to buy the ship - you need to buy an escort through the quest)
I sense CSR tickets if someone buys a ship they can't fly even though they apparently have the cert (from 4xxx pilot)
My understanding is this is a late change - clearly not everyone is clear so it may be worth checking:
To get the ship deed you can trade it or complete the quest.
To fly the ship you need to have completed the quest AND have the cert at 4xxx pilot Dev Post
The cert at 4xxx pilot is in place in case you change factions and so would theoretically be able to keep using the fighter once you reach 4333 in your second profession. Dev Post
IMHO the requirement to have completed the quest yourself needs to be removed (that was the late addition) OR the deeds should be non-tradeable. This would ensure that noripping offcould take place of (say) and Imp selling the Jedi fighter to a rebel who wants it because it is called Jedi and then finds he can't fly it. That sort of 'con' is what may generate CSR time needs.
I'm not in game and am about to go to bed so can't check - but the wording on the certs may need to be checked to ensure it says something along the lines of: "Certification to fly the XXXXX ship only when the pilot has completed the YYYYY quest" (otherwise it will confuse people)
And as far as *I* know, once you wreck one of these new ships (even though you can never TRULY fully wreck them), you can't get a replacement.
I'm not a shipwright, I'm just an enthusiastic pilot that's pissed that these ships pretty much hand any jerk-off a PvP-grade ship, where I've had to work MONTHS to get mine up to snuff.
