Thread: Odd space loot: level 8 reactors with zero generation rate

i've looted three of these so far. they have approx 44k mass, and 0.00 reactor generation rate. when i'm reverse engineering these, should i treat them as filler, or will they actually help the final product? i recall hearing that the zero gen rate turns into something huge when reverse engineered

I have seen warnings that you should NOT use such components in reverse-engineering, as it will be considered an exploit. In addition, the devs are aware of this problem (as far as I know).

These items work fine as a "filler" from my past experiences.

If you see a reverse engineered component with 0 mass or 0 energy drain, your looking at a potentially exploited component. If they are straight loot and not touched by a shipwright, your ok.

They're talking about the reactor generation rate, not mass or energy drain. I have a few of these also, but I'm scared to RE them (what use is a reactor that puts out NO ENERGY........lol).


Any info from someone who knows would be nice.

I got a level 10 reactor w/ 0 generation rate...but the mass is only 36k. What do ya'll think?

I find reactors with 0 generation rate often also have very low mass. Re'd one of those together with a 30k generating reactor and now have an 18k mass, 32k gen reactor. Using it in my heavy-x to use all overload 4's
