Thread: Question about POB ship parts

I know that the booster and the engine are bugged but i was wondering how the stats are comeing out on the other stuff. Are they just as good or better than RE or is RE still the better way to go.
i just bought a 5mil+ mass VT-49 and i was curious.

From my experience, none of the POB only components are worth it the way things are now. I can craft as good, and usually much better, Mark V equipment. They also have alot less than the 250k mass that POB components have. No, that 250k was not a typo.

Here is a post on from a trade forum listing some stats: Clicky Not my post, but I did make an Elite shield with 3500 f/r shielding the other day. No L10 loot can beat that, REd or not.
The Shield, Capacitor, and Null Bolt Blaster blow away any Mark V component, and are better than a lot of even level 10 loot. A Level 10 RE job should be able to beat the cap and blaster. Don't let the low max damage of the null bolt fool you, it fires 4 times per second with a 0.25 refire rate. Most level 10 weapons are around 0.4 refire, that's 2.5 times per second. If you prefer higher damage per shot rather than damage per second, it can be crafted with a higher damage and lower refire. I don't have those numbers handy.
The POB armor, while better than Mark V, is probably not worth it. Mark V provides around 2500-2600 armor. It would be hard to justify the extra cost for 2800-2900 POB armor.
Only POB engines and boosters are the same as or worse than Mark V crafted.
