Hey-howdy shipwright types.
Just wondering if there are any good crafting professions to take alongside SW (aside from the obvious DE for flight computers / chips). I was a master armorsmith for nearly a year and of course needed Tailor for components. I was also an Architect and needed master Artisan for components.
Anything I can take with my Shipwright to make life easier?
If this was already covered in one of the stickies / FAQ's / therein referenced links - I apologize. I've gone through a good chunk of them, but seeing as how I only really ever forum browse from work - I can't delve 100% into researching old threads. I did a good once-over on it, then thought I might ask the pros, whose ranks I hope to join soon.
Thanks!

Architect. Just the Furniture Branch.
Of course, this won't be quite that important until you start making and selling the POB ships, but if you have POB ships and also bags of furniture available that are ready made to decorate the interior of a POB, you might end up with quite a few side sales.

Not a bad idea at all. Was wanting to go back and do Archi again (since I've been 100% combat for some time now, believe it or not I miss archi). Didn't even think of that, though. But I guess that answers my question nicely - there's no profession that SW has a real co-dependancy on like a lot of the others, so it sounds.
Thankya =)

You are welcome.
It will be very cool, in coming months, if they add the ability to colorize furniture while crafting, since it will allow for some very nifty themes and styles of furniture to be placed in a ship or home. That's why I am picking up the Furniture branch of Architect.

Actually, you should get Merchant skills. SW needs alot of storage. You do not need to Master, but get high enough to place vendors. I have one storage vendor, one sales vendor, and one private RE vendor. It is not unusual for me to have hundredsof loot components stored on the vendor waiting to be RE'd. Plus another few hundredof resources.

Everyone has their own way of doing things.
I am doing fine with just the two Vending Machines available to me through the Artisan Merchant branch.
Everything else is stored in my house or in my POB Ship. Beyond that, my PA has a few large homes that we use as a communal storage/share facility. As the only Shipwright in the PA, components for RE are obviously for me to take care of.

As you say, everyone has their own styles.
I run with merchant 3/0/0/0, and I'm thinking of giving up scout 2/0/0/0 to get more merchant.
I have three vendors: crafted parts, RE'd parts, and storage. The storage vendor gets all the non-RE'd loot parts, neatly sorted into component analysis tools. When I go flying or someone hands me some loot parts, they go into the tools until they're full, then I sort through the pile for the best set (or sets for the lower stuff) and stock them on my RE vendor.
So I get handed 3 level 8 guns, and go cancel the "Level 8 Guns" sale on the vendor; pull it out, add them to the 6 already in there, and put it back on the vendor. Yes I know that's enough to RE already. but I wait until the tool is full and I get one more, and I tend to get a better selection of stats to RE.
YMMV.
