Thread: Still can't craft...
Sometimes it updates, sometimes it doesnt.
Impossible for me to craft, when I can't make any schematics. This is hurting my shop.
I have to make 100+ parts a day, to keep my stock up.
Still no word on a resolution, but I know they are trying.
Ya but how can I name my engine 118.8 if It might not be? or any ogf my parts for easier browsing.
I wish there was an escalation method.
You can name your engine 118.8 or whatever because once you spit one out you can see what the max experimented number is on it. From that point on you know exactly what it's going to be. A pain in the butt, but oh well. I don't put stats in my components so I don't know what to tell you. When someone puts their cursor over one of my components and sees the stats, they don't have to look at any of the others because they're going to be the same unless I had an amazing success on an experimentation leg and got to spend an extra point in something else, in which case the other stat I exp on will be one notch better. Anything else that isn't a great or amazing success gets recycled anyway.
It's an annoying bug, but all in all it shouldn't affect your stock item business. Custom work, however, isa different story. That gets more tricky.

One thing I noticed is the game is tracking the real stats. So, even if the tool is not updating, the end product comes out right. I've often had it not show the proper stats until I'm on the last create prototype screen.

Yes, but nevertheless it is game breaking for me. I need to see the moment I experimented the new value.
The reason: I need to hit the next full 10 or the next full 5 number in most of my experimenting. Nobody wants for example a Mark II booster with 29.x, but people will want 30.x or 35.x.
But it is not necessary to craft to 32.x, so what do I do now if I invested 3 experimentation points in a starting value of 28.2 ... hope that I did hit the 30 and that I do not have to invest another 1 experimentation point? Or experimenting 1 exp point anywhere until the system has enough compassion to update my values in hope from me that it updates before my experimentation points are gone?
Sorry, but I stopped crafting until this is fixed. If it will not be fixed within a hot fix or at least until the next patch I will close my shop entirely ... guess what I will do with my account ...?
Yes, and missile packs quanty experimentation is even worse. You know the max you will get for each type but no way can I remeber the % that hits max quantity for all of them. Besides, I have seen the number increase at different %'s.
Here are some patch notes from the test center. Perhaps this is some sunshine to your day?
Crafting
- During the experimentation phase of crafting, the object being crafted will now update its properties in a reasonable amount of time. Previously this took approximately 10 to 15 seconds and would make it appear as if your experimentation had no effect on the object.
- When the item count of a resource container changes, the examine information should change as well. The examine information for crafted objects and containers should update properly in the appropriate crafting windows.
- When using items in resource containers or surveying, the item count of the container should update properly if you changed servers or disconnected.

If you use one experimentation point at a time, the stats will update correctly. It has been working for me
Great news that the experimentation will be fixed.
And to you TUMOS_GHOST: Maybe you understand better if I tell you how I craft and why. I fill up a shop that seems to be the only stocked in the whole galaxy. This means that people are buying fast and a lot. To keep up with demand I have 1 day of very solid crafting each week, this means 6-8 hours straight, no break within. I do this because I have no other time to craft a lot during the week (I am a working person). During the week I only do some casual crafting if for example the launchers are gone.
Within these 6-8 hours of crafting I produce around 500-700 items, depending on how empty the vendor is, like a machine (we have no full factory support, so I am my factory). To achieve this amount of items in this limited time I need to craft fast, very fast. I barely recognize system messages, and I need to click as few as possible to spare time and the health of my fingers. That means that I usually use 3 experimentation points at once, and that I desperately need an immediate update on the values of the items.

ooh seems like hard work. I craft lightly, so there is no where near as much pressure on me. Another way I found out that works is use 1 exp. point for first experimentation, then whatever amount you desire after that, and stats will still update
