It used to be that a looted shield with a higher value to one side (say 1200 front, 800 rear) would end up at 1200 fron 1200 rear after being installed. Today I tried RE'ing some level 10's that should have netted me a 2936 front, and about a 2550 rear before being installed. Low an behold, I install it and it averages the two values instead of taking the highest one.

Could anyone tell me when this changed? (I didnt see anything in the patch notes) I'm somewhat PO'ed as I would not have done the RE job had I known the "formula" had changed (I would have waited for a higher rear value shield)

It's all random.

If it drops a level 10 part, that's where he got them.

Just in the luck of the draw.

Like my 1394 charge capacitor, 49.5 recharge.

This was changed a number of months ago when they removed the ability to shift shields and then RE them. I could track down the week or so if you really want, but it was sometime near the beginning of the year.

Nice level 10s like that are rare, but they do exist. I haven't found any that good, but I have put together a set that beats the reward level 8 by a little bit.

The shield adjust droid command was not supposed to leave the shields adjusted from one space session to the next, however the bug got through, so the devs made it so that every new space session all shield adjustments were levelled out, unfortunately this had the effect of levelling out deliberately crafted front/back shield imbalances.

If you want to bias your shield then you need to get a chip programmed forthe shield adjust droid command(Rebel Pilot skill) and set it up each time you go into space.

It was a lucky loot. The pre RE value was 2796 I think, so the post RE value was actually lower due to the front/rear values being equalized. This is what gets me upset as I would have waited for another good shield to drop before using this had I known about the change.

My next best post RE level 10 was only 2388 power, but the rechargewas a hair shy of20. I regret REing this unit too because that 2700 point shield dropped the next day. Would have been nice to have that extra point to recharge.

Oh, and most (if not all) of my good loot comes from DS. There's not much for Pvp action here on Sunrunner...I've pulled millions of prestige and 25k faction in a night without seeing another pilot. I've pulled some decent RE's there...42/1200 level 4 and 61/1485 level 10's, 4700 damage guns, 9.0 speed DI's....but I would hope to have at least some decent items while earning 80 million prestige over two pilots. It's the players with 200+ million that must have the best gear

How do you get a 2800 or so Pre-RE shield? I have never seen any T10 that were over 2200 in either direction. I've gone through about 30-40 T10 Shields by now. Where did you get these?
