Thread: Warning: Bugged looted guns

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I've been looting a decent number of level 9 and level 10 guns lately, and I'm noticed that quite a few of them are bugged. These bugged ones won't fire at all. The easiest way to tell if you have one of the bugged guns is that if you load it onto your ship there won't be any weapon graphics added to the outside of your ship. Even though the weapon is equiped, the spot where the gun would normally be is left empty.


The good news however is that these bugged guns still work when you RE, just make sure you don't put one of the bugged guns into the tool first. I got a set of level 9 guns RE'd this weekend, and four of the guns in the bunch were bugged ones that had no graphics and couldn't be fired. The REing worked fine though and stats from the bugged guns carried over into the spots they were supposed to. (By the way, for those interested, the RE'd level 9 gun ended up with stats better than the Borstel reward gun and less mass, too.)

You've got to be kidding me. I just RE'd a lvl 10 gun and it wont fire at all, came on here and I was going to post about it and here's a post commenting on the exact same thing. Not sure if the gun I put in the analyzer first was bugged but they'd damn well better fix this, because I didnt waste 10 lvl 10 guns for f.cking nothing.

Ouch. That sucks. Lvl 10 guns are the rarest drop, too. Hopefully CSRs have the tools to create replacement ship components and you're lucky enough to get one who is willing to help. Or perhaps the devs will get around to adding the missing graphics and animations for the bugged guns. I've noticed that when you find a bugged gun, all other guns with the same name that you find will also be bugged. I'm guessing that either they forgot to add some files that these guns point to, or else the files are there but these bugged guns for some reason aren't connecting up with the right files. Either way it should be an easy fix.

Yeah, I'm def going to be testing all my looted guns from now on.


The lvl 10 gun I RE'd came out as 2600-4505dmg 0.830 vs Shields | 0.770 vs Armor and 32 energy per shot, 0.38 refire

This one is called (Unknown Manufacturer) "Rayslinger" Blaster, really hope they fix it, having this sweet gun and not being able to use it is hell

haven't found the bugged gun yet but here an advice...


before doing RE test all your guns, both for the shape (is always nice to have matching parts) and more important the glow it produce when it fires... in some ships that glow is so high that makes almost impossible to use the gun for more than 5mins


so before to do a RE gun test all your weapons, chose the one that you like the most and put is as the first gun in the RE tool, this way you will have not unexpected surprises.

I don't think the first gun put int othe tool will decide the shape & firing flash of the end result, I think that the highest damage gun is the one that comes out as the controlling one.

I heard the bugged guns even while having no graphic are still firing and doing damage.

I'd try to go to Tatooine and get some level 1 Black Suns, and try to shoot them with a weapongroup that only has the bugged gun in. If it blows up, then it works

There are 2 groups of bugged guns.


Onegroup has no graphic on the hull and does not work at all.


The other group has no graphic on the hull, but it still fires; either through all the other existing gun graphics at once(which can look pretty neat in certain circumstances), or if there are none, it just comes shooting out of the dead center of the ship(which would be nice in a lot of cases, dead on accuracy).

I need some hard data on these guns and could use info on the following.


1. Loot name of bugged guns


2. Stats + re' level


3.effect (no graphics, no fire)


We need to find out if there is anything consistent about the bugged ones.
