As I said.. it is just a suggestion! And yes, as long as some looted components are better than crafted and experimented ones, my list 'won't' work.
When I craft ship components, I always try to use only the top of it. If I'm not able to use the best, than I charge some % of it. Lets say.. may resources are only 50% as good as the top would be. In such a case, I only charge 50% of the listed prices.
But if I can use top resource for the component upgrades, than I charge 100% for the upgrade.
Lets say, I can use the top resources for Mark 2 Weapon Upgrade and only 50% resources for a Mark 2 weapon itself.
5k weapon upgrade
+5k weapon
-------------------
10k for the crafted weapon
==========================
And my estimated 20CPU where meant for the top of the resources.
cheers

Yeah, I've found that Cert Level Squared comes out to pretty much the right price... +/- 1-5k, depending on the level, and treat comps with no upgrade as one cert level lower. ( Cert 7 armor -> no upgrade -> 36,000 || with upgrade -> 49k)

mark 3 10000

mark 5 40000
I still make good cash...now with the upgrades on them.....
mark 1 5000
mark 2 10000
mark 3 20000
mark 430000
mark 5 60000
They sell quite well and your system looks good too

I do NOT sell any components without upgrades.
I price at 30CPU.
So:
Mark 1 REd components only, price at 9-15K
Mark 2 22500
Mark 3 45000
Mark4 75000
Mark5 125000
Consumablles I price at 20CPU for Mark II and above.

I made a pricing list for myself, so I always charge the same prices for my components.
The following list is just a suggestion and can vary from SW to SW.
I used 20CPU as a base.
To make things easier, I putted the different upgrades within a category together, if they use the same amount of resources (i.e. booster overdrive mark 1, extended life fuel cell mark 1, fast charge fuel cell mark 1...)
The list is not complete at the moment, but I will fill in the missing parts as soon as I have the time to complete my excel sheet.
Armor Upgrades
Mark 1 2k
Mark 2 5k
Mark 3 10k
Mark 4 25k
Armor (without Upgrade)
Mark 1 4k
Mark 2 10k
Mark 3 20k
Mark 4 50k
Mark 5 100k
Booster Upgrades
Mark 1 2k
Mark 2 5k
Mark 3 10k
Booster (without Upgrade)
Mark 1 4k
Mark 2 10k
Mark 3 20k
Mark 4 50k
Weapon Upgrades
Mark 1 2k
Mark 2 5k
Mark 3 10k
Weapons (without Upgrade)
Light 4k
Mid-Range 10k
Heavy 20k
Advanced 50k
From the above listing one can make the following equation..
Upgrades:
Mark 1 Upgrades (any) 2k
Mark 2 Upgrades (any) 5k
Mark 3 Upgrades (any) 10k
Mark 4 Upgrades (any) 25k
Mark 5 Upgrades (any) 50k (estimation)
Component (without upgrade):
Mark 1 4k
Mark 2 10k
Mark 3 20k
Mark 4 50k
Mark 5 100k
If you like to change the base CPU, than you have a good starting point from the above prices. I hope that table will make a more constant market out there, so that the SW profession will be as good as it should be in the future.

This would only work on servers where you can actually buy good quality (especially named) resources for less than 20 cpu.
Spending 5 days hunting it down, or 5 days *looking for a dealer* that will sell at a decent price - drives up the cost regardless.
Could have spent that time earning creds in space or elsewhere.
The problem is that, believe it or not, most players don't spend $100/month++ to have 50 lots available to harvest resources, but the few that do monopolize the great spawns, and then charge according to what they could sell to, say, a MAS for.
Shipwrights are being called theives at 10cpu.
Shipwrights are being called theives at 10cpu.
That being said, Cert 5 (mark 3) components I sell for 25k, whether manufactured or RE'd, and I make money on the manufactered parts but 'break even' on the RE'd parts.
I can make money only because I harvest my own steel, and a goodly bit of my resource stash was donated to me by guildies, meaning it cost them something... so in the end, if I were to pay them what they were worth, i'd be spending 15cpu for every part I sell.
Hefty.
Using the RE level squared method, cert 7 sells for 49000 creds.
If you charge 20cpu, that means your manufactured parts had best be better than any loot ever dropped... which just isn't the case.
Armor - 13k AP for under 6k mass --- RE'd and common.
Can you manufacture that? If you can, what do you know thatI don't?!
