Well I have been playing SWG since shortly after release and have always trolled the forums but never posted until now...

First off I really like all of the ideas that I have read so far on this thread, especially the Hanger idea. How cool would it be to walk around your ship or a clients ship to discuss modifications or changing the texture on the ship. I think that the hanger should be a City structure and should take the place of the shuttleport in the city. This will eliminate the need for updating the Planetary Map. Have the actual hanger underground, you could make it like a faction base as far as how you enter and manuver in it underground, while maintaining a smaller foot print on the surface. I don't think that it should require lots since it would be a city structure and used by everyone, as far as the shuttles go. Just my 2 credits...

Second I like the idea of being able to "purchase" specialization skills for your profession. I would make it a quest based system like the Village so that it will add some content to the game, not just another grind to get better at your profession, the grind to master SW is taxing enough, lets have fun with it! As far as the specilization skills that you could get maybe break it down to half of the profession capabilities. This would keep the profession challenging and interesting for all that choose to do it, while maintaining the balance of the profession so that it does not become saturated, we all remember how many Doctors there were Pre-CU right? I think that if Profession specialization is introduced then you can't just do it for SW you will have to do it for all Crafting professions, don't make it like the FS system now though where you have to trade in XP then grind, and trade in again I did that with my Jedi,I want to PLAY,do quests, make them hard, make them challenging enough to last for a couple of days to make it funand provide that sense of accomplishment...but not impossible. I would implement a system where you could choose to specialize in a set amount of skills, something like Weapons Systems, Weapons Assembly, and Chassis Assembly. If you limit the amount that you can specialize in then you create a more diverse market for the SW to compete in as well as keeping it intresting for the SW.

Third I like the idea of having a SW mission terminal, alot of SW's are non-combatant and cannot run grouped missions to make money fast. Provide the mission terminal as a means to compensate our income when we are starting out as well as getting SW experience for the mission. Most of us harvest our own resources, or as much of them as possible to cut costs on what we are spending on other resources. Not sure on the economy on the other servers but Starsider is pretty bad. Went broke real fast when I started SW.

Last but not least I love the idea of having a poster to display the ships and different styles that a SW can make, we have all purchased blueprintsfor a ship that we hoped would look cool, only to have it built and get dissapointment. Why not add an option in the crafting phase to make the blueprint a holographic projection like the Vet Rewards. This would make the game more Star Warsy as well as providing a nice touch to the SW shop and quick reference for the customer to decide on their purchase. I know that is a long shot but I would make the holograms an irreversible process, where it takes all the same resources as the actual blueprint does, just add that last option to turn it into a holographic image. I would also make it so that you could only have one ship and one style of each so the value of Vet Rewards doesn't decrease, make them non sellable or tradeable. Thats soSWs aren't crafting decorations they're crafting ships while maintaining the value of Vet Rewards!

As far as factories go I am glad that I can't just "factory" my way through the profession. I used to be a Pre-CU doc, with my own shop, and having the factories make everything for me took the value of the profession away from me. I like the CRAFTING I have to do in order to provide a finished product. I don't want to fight all the time so when I need a break from combat I like to work on SW to have a mellow game experience, the fact that I have to do most of it by hand gives me the opportunity to really learn my profession while creating high quality ships/components in the end. Its not just another quick run to the factories to deposit resources and a new schematic, then nothing to do.....

Just my 2 credits on the ideas that stuck out to me the most, thanks for reading my ramblings

I LikeHanger.

I WantHanger.

Give Shipwrights Hanger.

Ok, just wanted to put that simply so it couldn't be misunderstood by Devs, if they should come by

A hanger with 500-1000 piece storage would make for a beautiful addition to the game.

Not to mention a measure of dedication to the JTLS community.

Now, since JTLS, we have had ROTW that through everyone into a tizzy about balance, but in general, most professions got some thought.

Now comes TOOW. Not seeing a lot of love in space. Some crafters get some stuff, true, but pure pilots I know were basically dismissed and iggied.

Since TOOW is apparently a primarily groundside/planetside expansion, the next expansion should primarily be space side.

Give SW the hanger, pilots the cap ships, groundpounders can go to Space stations with quests, and the GCW to unite all of these.

Just a thought.

That would make this game as near perfect as could be, I think. What's more star wars than big starships, space station battles, and the civil war?

/sigh
