Hey Orske,

I just noticed another schematic error. Missile launchers are 50/50 CD/OQ, missile stats are 50/50 OQ/PE. The tool is using CD/OQ for both.

Cheers,
Alirc

Thanks for catching that. Fixed!

Thanks for the support guys, glad you like the tool. I feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it might be the old pizza I just ate....heh.

Hey everyone!

Currently, as the new crafting changes have been made (which I haven't been able to test out, but from what I read...) this site does *NOT* reflect those changes as of yet.

Basically, for those that don't understand what happened, here is a quick example:

Say we have a generic steel with 490 CD and 950 OQ. This generally would be 'not that great' as we shipwrights need very high CD *and* OQ (not generally just OQ), and Crystallized Bicorbantium and Hardened Arveshium were not capped at 500 CD (meaning they were 'gated' at 1000 CD and OQ each - so they were generally the better steels that we used). So, previously, our 490 CD (gated at 500) steel was not really all that great (though OQ was high and we could use it in some schematics).

Now, however, stats on resources are computed according to their 'gated' ranges. This means that our old 490 CD, 950 OQ steel in our example is calculated at 490/500 CD (500 is the max CD for that type) instead of 490/1000. Effectively making it a 980 CD (490/500 = 980/1000) steel. I find this *very* nice, with caveats.

However, this also brings about problems. I do not think the current crafting process is reflecting these changes, so we really do not know what specific stats on each resource is gated at. I think there's some thread around on it, but I haven't found it on quick searching. Hopefully someone can point it out to me. Therefore, we really do now know if our current resources are better than some old stuff we originally were using for chassis, heh. So, some number crunching is needed for all of us to determine our old stocks 'new' viability in our crafting.

Basically, I need to update the site to reflect changes on the gated resources, and to do this (for each resource type, bleh!) I need hard data on what these gated values are. If anyone could point it out, I'd be quite thankful.

NOTE TO KEEP IN MIND: In some cases, the site I made *STILL* holds true to the 'best current resource' scenario. Basically, a 490 CD steel is still going to score 'higher' than a 400 CD steel. The change that needs to happen is where the 490 CD steel will fail miserably against a 900 CD steel, when that now may not be the case (provided the gate on the 490 CD steel is 500, which I think that is CD gate on most steel). So, basically, start keeping a good watch over the CD on steel. In my mind, that's the biggest change we have to our profession, as most other stats we need to pay attention to are already gated at 1000. If that's not the case, someone can fix me there too

Hope this helps,

-Orske

OK, **MAJOR** update...

Basically, it *should* work for post-CU crafting now...

It takes in the wonderful work of Lunariel (from swgcraft forums), and uses those listed max stat values to compute stat values as the game sees them.

Here is the example from the patch notes recently:

So, for example, assume Frobozium steel has a toughness range from 750-850, and also assume that this steel is being used in a slot which specifically requires Frobozium steel. Under the old system, a particular frobozium steel with a toughness of 800 was considered 50% tough. Under the new system, it will be 94% tough (800 / 850).

Basically, instead of listing the 800 toughness stat from the example, the script now converts it to the same value it would be under a 1000 base system. so 800/850 = x/1000. It's pretty much that simple, but it was hell to code for a bit (then, of course, *snap*). In this example above, the Frobozium Steel would then be listed as 941/1000 in the toughness stat, thereby making the 'best current resources' update correctly for those stats on resources that did NOT cap at 1000.

For our old 'main' resources (like Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel), this change affects nothing, as I think all shipwright-centric resources have all stats capping at 1000. But now we can look at other steels with lower CD ratings (as we know is all-important), and these will be re-calculated into the new system, meaning that a 445 CD 999 OQ Ditanium Steel (spawn on Starsider) is actually *better* than a 900 CD 900 OQ Cryst. Bic. Steel (the ditanium converts to 936 CD 999 OQ as CD cap is 475).

What I need for all of you is to check it out. Report script errors, notify me if the script is totally screwed up. I hope not, because if I don't have it right now, *sigh* gotta relearn the code...heh.

I have not changed the 'old' URL. It stays the same until we can be certain the 'new' post-cu version is the correct one to use.

new url:

*** POST - CU *** Shipwright Tool for Best Current Resources

old url:

***OLD*** Shipwright Tool for Best Current Resources

Enjoy!

I think I found a bug. I am on Sunrunner.

The tool lists Tribema (Chromite Carbonate Ore) as MA:870, OQ:958, SR:802, UT:720. Pretty nice.

However, SWGCraft lists it as MA:513, OQ:958, SR:232, UT:382. Not so nice.

I haven't confirmed what it is in game (stupid server problems), and I haven't been able to find another resource with the stats from the tool version (thinking that it was pulling a different resource and using the wrong name or something).

Any clue on what's going on here?

it's not a 'bug' it's a feature! heh, actually i programmed it to do this. it's lists the resources stats out of 1000, instead of using the resource cap it has. from my earlier post:

a 445 CD 999 OQ Ditanium Steel is actually *better* than a 900 CD 900 OQ Cryst. Bic. Steel as the ditanium converts to 936 CD 999 OQ as CD cap is 475. so 445/475 = .936 = 936/1000 CD.

My tool uses values based on 1000. Just made it easier on me. It was a side-effect that my post-cu fix modified all the values listed. I really plan on fixing that to either display the correct values (stats) of the resources, but still keep the 'modified' post-cu values to use in calculations. I'll figure it out.

Thanks for paying attention though!
