Thread: So Rangers got their Health increased because they complained and crafters do not?

On live I am a Master Shipwright, which given the amount of time, effort, and resources it took to attain, I will NOT give it up. So, my new template will be:

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Shipwright, Rifleman 1/0/0/3, Marksman 4/0/0/4, Scout 4/0/0/0, Artisan 4/0/0/0

That would make me a combat level of 59. My goal is play solo and take part in the odd guild raid, etc. I rarely ever PvP and if I did, it would be with people around my own level.


I tested this template out on TC today, complete with a full set of Rebel Assault Armor and using an LD-1 Rifle, and I wasn't able to kill anything near my own combat level. Granted that I've only ever played a Rifleman/Scout on live, I am still capable of making use of my specials. Even still, I could not kill anything near my level (59), regardless of what I tried. I was fighting Imperial NPCs on Rori.

So, I would say that there needs to be an increase in Bounty Hunter PvE defence, so that the world will still have a few crafters like me around. There is no way I am giving up my Force Sensitive Master Shipwright character just to be able to solo creatures of my own level. I don't care if these "samve level" creatures are challenging, but I would like to actually be able to kill one on my own. About all that I can take out on my own is so much lowwer in level than me that I don't get any XP for killing it.

This is an issue that needs to be addressed, because there are a whole lot of Crafter/Fighters out there who are getting the shaft! Playing this game isn't all about how one generates an income, it's about having fun. Part of that fun is having the option to craft or to fight something - which IS POSSIBLE in all of those other MMPORPGs that Sony is so desperately trying to copy!!!!

because I talked to a dev at Celebration and he said that they HAVE to have ROTW out on my 5th and ROTW wont work without the CURB patch.

basically he more or less told me that they have their hands tied by lucasarts.

also he said that in a month or so once they have the CURB and ROTW working and tweeked out they will begin working on noncombat upgrades starting with Smugglers but they plan to work on all noncombat professions.

I asked him about the nonCom profession issue and suggested that maybe we need either a cert for a better sheild or maybe a special guard droid instead of just the PSGs. I'm sure that wont go anywhere but thats a possibility.

Personally I'm on the fence about this whole issue, I think crafters deserve SOMETHING to help them stay alive but I can see the realistic idea behind the fact that they arent combat so they shouldnt have the related skills. BUT why cant we have an exclusive to us aid? Like my favorite idea is a remote like guard droid that can keep up with a speeder, anything aggros you it will hold it off for a few seconds so you can get away. if you dawdle you get beat. I just think we need something that will save us from blind 1 hit incaps at LEAST on starter planets. These could be like one use disposible droids and then DEs get thrown a bone because they get a new droid that would be helpful.

But outside wishful thinking I have been woring on my combat skills, I dont like it but I dont see that I have much choice. Only I wish they would drop the SP for merchant a little so I could afford to do a little more combat in there.
