the cloths should fit wookies like me too so we can have them too .
kazzabev master sw and pilot
I think creating a reward that would allow a SW to mix and match wings and cockpits would be pretty cool. This could add more depth to the SW profession because the wings and cockpits could have masses of their own. This might require the ship to have a strong rupulser (an extra item you can receive a blue print for in the quests). I realize this would be a big overhaul so maybe just blue prints for each combination. You could also be able to choose only one or two combinations amongst a group of them.
As far as the quests go, they could be similar to how the pilot quests work (I am a neutral pilot and I'm assuming the Imp and Reb pilot missions work the same way). This way new SW's could grow while they do the quests, while older and more experienced ones could run through the early quests to get to something a bit more challenging. Also, this would give a SW time to create items to sell and gain exp to get to allow them to get to the next part of the quest (say you get a new quest for every 1/2 tier you complete).
I like the idea of making the quests require the SW to create items to match certain specifications through using different materials and experimenting. For example a quest may make you create a ship chassisthat can hold X+ amount of mass, or you could even combine it so the ship chassis handed in for the first quest is used throughout the rest of the quest (ie: you actually build a ship for somebody in the end, but the mass of the components cannot exeed the mass of the chassis originally created). This could force you to go back and create new items because maybe you made a reactor too heavy.
I would like to minimize the ground combat allowed. There are enough quests that are heavy on combat where it won't make the quest stand out and be exciting at all.
I won't post the final quest ideas here (no spoilers yet
Thanks again!
I am personally a fan of "EPIC" style quests. For crafters it can be difficult as if things are not done correctly it could be very overpowering or run into the problem that there was before the CU where everyone was using the same type of armor on the ground etc.
However perhaps the Quests could provide special schematics that are alignment based?
What I mean by this is the end product could have a requirement that it can only be used in 1 style of piloting profession. Yes that would mean doing several quests for the hardcore SW but it would also add some depth to it other than just getting +25 in CA's and the best resources.
The quest would have to cover both space and ground including perhaps the most difficult dungeons in the game.
Space portion may require something along the lines of having to take out a Tier 6 Corvette and say 24-36 Tier 6 Starfighters (yes that means making a special Tier of ships which shouldn't be hard with SoE's current cookie cutter setup for CL's)
The ground portion could involve having to defeat a group of CL90's and a "BOSS" that is CL 100-120.
Other than that perhaps just farming "special" components that you "Reverse Engineer" to combine with parts from the above 2 sections and "Reverse Engineer" again to gain the schematic with unlimited uses.
You may look at the numbers and think I am crazy but really it is doable if people start looking at the encounter as a RAID LEVEL encounter. Raids are suppose to be 4-12 groups of players to take and accomplish. This layout could be done for all crafters which would make crafters in general a LOT more wanted.
Those are just my ideas but then again SoE has suspended and/or banned me from the forums on various accounts because I keep trying to get this stuff through thier skulls (albeit maybe not in the most diplomatic of ways
)
If you want to send me an in game email to Kettemoor.staeven and I can work on putting together the full quest along with locations and so forth if YOU want to do a formal offering to SoE. I won't offer them anything else only because well...... I do not like how EASY the game has been made IMO. I liked it complicated ![]()
